I think you know very well that I am not talking about you but the masses, the vast majority of whom (a good 60-70%) are illiterate and vote along biradari and/or ‘what you can do for me’ lines (jo gaon k Chaudhry ney keh diya wohi theek hai) rather than merit or performance or what is good for the country. I am not saying educated people don’t vote for PML-N but their vote bank is largely comprised of such masses. Same phenomenon applies to the PPP vote bank in interior Sindh (jo aankh naak kaan band karke Bhutto k naam par ab tak PPP ko vote dey rahey hein) and to the voters of other parties as well incl. even some PTI voters. A gori journalist wrote a very good article on this just before the 2013 election. will post it if I can find it. Even they seem to understand our voting patterns!
In an ideal world he should but in a myopic and bigoted society like ours it is not easy to openly admit that you have a love child even for someone as influential as IK. Incited by mullahs, some nutcases could try to harm or kill him.
