i apologize for the long reply, but i had to vent. here goes:
i don't know why anyone would ever want to get cheap effects done on their wedding pictures. in lahore, i notice nearly everyone really loves seeing weird graphics and fake flowers and film strips and god knows what else pasted onto their photos...what is up with that?...perhaps my taste is different...
i think a wedding is the most important day of a girl's life...when a lady and her man get married, the LAST thing i can imagine keeping as a photographic memento of the Big Day is a stack of 50 pictures with bizarre things stuck on them to show your children years from now.
i don't understand why afzl or shanawaz or khawar would even get good reviews.
frankly, the first two treat their clients as bollywood/lollywood couples and try to 'glam' things up with strange frames and flowers and red curtains and cheap carvings and ugly stuff painted gold that act as props...and god knows what else.
khawar is a very strange person...if you live in lahore and ask around for 'khawar bhai' the most incredibly weird and scary things will come up. and his work...is sloppy. please don't take my word for it. please do your own research and make your own decision.
and ather shehzad are very important members of the media and fashion industry. they are competent. they will deliver you a better product. but their product is the same as it has always been. years and years of their being in the business and their brides and photos look EXACTLY the same; which bothers me. i don't want to look like a clone!
try maram and aabroo. they are girls. i like their stuff. their website is a nice little portfolio. and i completely dig the fact that they are friendly and good at what they do. i will choose them for my big day.

Wait, what kinda strange things have you heard about the photographer? I'm curious. And also, aside from Maram & Abroo, Guddu & Shani are excellent too, though slightly pricy.
Well, guddu shani offer event coverage as well as in-studio shoots. so that's one plus for them over m&a. on the other hand, i am an art student so i don't like looking at blah products and having to pay premium amounts for them when i KNOW they can be done a billion times better. thankfully i can get my compadres to do an ace job of event coverage when the time comes =]
re khawar 'bhai': i aint gonna trash someone based on the stuff i know, i guess. i sort of work in the 'industry' so to speak. so i know more about all of these people since they are my colleagues. kher, that being said, i repeat: i don't like dodgy products. esp when being delivered by a dodgy dude and his 'crew'. please do take a look at his portfolio for your own take on the matter though =)
kairosphoto: brill portfolio! =) delightful stuff! i am incredibly chuffed to find someone being able to make a living off doing tasteful things rather than the tacky gluttony people love to spend money on here! =D noticed the sexy velvet backdrops yet? =p they're almost like a bad running gag.
Lol! Thanks Bleah! Well, I plan and hope to turn things around in Lahore starting this fall. Time for an upgrade in the aesthetics for the Lahore market. Hopefully the loaded clientelle of Lahore will see the light and come swarming to me. Oh well...no harm in daydreaming :)
wow! kairos! I cant wait for you to take things up a notch in lahore. being a Female wedding photographer I myself know how cruical innovation is.

I used Afzl studio in Faisalabad for my engagement and they were pretty good. If you are into the photojournalism style then you should try Kairosphoto (I have not used them, but photography seems good).
My Brother had a family photo session done in Lahore, my 3 year old neice ended up with dark maroon lipstick on her!!! and my sis had an individual pic which had italic writing in the corner that read " beauty of Lahore" what the hell is all that about??
Even though relatively much more expensive, we have used AFZL for majority of our functions - including birthdays weddings etc. the first time we used their service was 10 years ago and based on that experience we recommended all our friends and family there....unfortunately, the standards have fallen so much that it has compelled me to write this review. AFZL studio will never deliver on time will over promise and under-deliver. If anyone has exta time to run after these guys all the time to get the pictures back - then by all means use them. However, for the money they charge - you would expect them to treat you fair, deliver on time and for times when they do get late, to keep you updated - after all if I wanted an overpriced, unprofessional photographer I am sure I could find plenty of them!!! AFZL sorry - but really your organization has taken the turn for the bad!!!
yeah i agree wid mcrasiancouple if u really want ur wedding 2 b outstanding den choose kairo's coz afzl ve same old style as it was 10 yrs ago i had my sisters wedding n my engagment n nikkah function 4rm dem n had same pix style in all n couldn't find perfection in any of dem
