Totally!! I hate when people speak their language right in front of me while i’m talking to them. When I was in high school there were these Albanian Muslim girls who right when I was talking to them, they would break off and speak to each other in Albanian. Thinking back, if that happens again, I would slap them (verbally or physically )
You need to watch out when talking in your own language in front of a foreigner. We once were having a workman replace some windows in our house, and he was a white english guy. My parents wanted to talk privately in front of him, so they started discussing what the guy was doing in urdu.
At that point he turned round and asked “Aap log Pakistan se hai?”
Turns out that this white guy spent 7 years being educated at Aitchinson College in Lahore (where he was sent because it offered English medium education cheaper than any boarding school in the UK) and was pretty fluent in urdu and punjabi.
*“No two persons should speak secretly excluding the third person so that will give the third some grief.” *
In Shari’ah usually we look for the ‘illah of hukm (means the reason behind the law). The Prophet SAAS said that it is adding some frustration or grief to the third person.
It is very clear then that anything leads to this result for the third person is haram or inconvenient. When you speak in a language the third person doesn’t understand you are doing the same, which frustrates or grieves the third person.
I just noticed your signature + then you mentioned word “hadith”.In my Islamic studies class we were talking about term “Hadith” or saying of your Prophet. I’ve borrowed this book from library about the life of your Prophet and so far iam very impressed with this man’s attitude and how he looked life as.
