My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

I have placed an order with Xenab. I was hesitant at first but after reading some of these reviews, i thought i would try.
I must say she was very prompt in all her replys, even when i wrote to her late at a silly time, she responded straight away!
i did keep changing my mind about my outfits, but she didn't mind, she didn't push me to order, she still wrote in detail and gave me lots of ideas.
She was very professional in all her replys. - which i like.

Now lets see how we get on...

Re: My personal experience with Xenab’s atelier =)

I should hopefully recieve my outfit soon and will let you all know how it turns out but thumbs up to xenabs atelier so far : )

^How comes she didnt send u pics?

Re: My personal experience with Xenab’s atelier =)

I have been wanting to write a review for some time now for Xenab but just got lazy. So here it goes:

The dress ordered was a summer maxi dress. I wanted to get a pure chiffon dress and didn’t want to pay the heavy price here in US. It was a bit more casual version of this with a different print.
http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/108968

I received the dress sometime back and all I have to say is it came out lovely. I have worn it out once and it looked beautiful and perfectly summery (I plan on wearing it for my friend’s beach wedding too). Aside from the dress, Xenab is wonderful to deal with and kept sending me constant updates etc during the whole stitching process. Also since I have very little clue on the names of cloth material/Embroidery used, she has been so helpful. She is also an absolute sweetheart to deal with which makes it an even more hasslefree/stressfree process:-).

The dress came on time. The cloth/print used was what I wanted and stitching/fitting was great (Considering, it was a more western style dress).

I am also in process of ordering a heavy jora from her for my friends wedding and so far her communication and Input right from the color to the style, has been amazing and very appreciated. So thanks Xenab for all the effort.

PS: I may post a pic of the dress sometime later.

Re: My personal experience with Xenab’s atelier =)

hey Smartgirl & Brummiebird, i just wanted to know if either one of you have recieved your outfits yet? i recieved a email from xenab on Saturday to say my outfits had been posted out from London and should be with me in 24 hours but they still havent arrived and i needed one outfit for a event tomorrow :bummer:.
I have emailed xenab but havent recieved a response and i am getting very worried now as i have had some bad experiences with ‘designers’ in the past! (although xenab has been very good throughout the order and stitching process) it’s just the delay with my clothes that is worrying! please let me know if yours have arrived.

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

Hi Hina, I had a msg to say it would be posted today, will keep u posted

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

thanks for your reply Brummiebird, i have now recieved a email from xenab to explain why my outfits are late, i should hopefully recieve them soon!

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

Hi Hina

Sorry for late reply, I got one of my outfits last week, It was in the UK and Xainabs rep posted it out to me so i got to wear it to the wedding!
It was really nice and i got alot of compliments, and also got a call from Xainab afterwards to check whether the fitting etc was ok. A couple of changes were made which xainab had told me about so i was eager to see the dress.
Because i had changed the colour i was nervous but the colour was beautiful and exactly the colour i had wanted.
My second outfit was still in pakistan and still is but i rather they dont rush it and ruin it. So I am waiting for that one.

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

^ thats gr8, can you plz post pics of your outfit if possible?

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

HI Guys,
Just thought i'd share my experience of ordering from Xenab. I';ve been admiring her outfits for absolutely ages and was just waiting for the right occasion to order an outfit. I had been in touch asking the prices of various outfits and i have to say she was really good in responding to all of my queries. we've got an upcoming family wedding so i thought this would be an ideal opportunity to place my order.
I chose an outfit from Xenabs album and with her help we came up with a really lovely colour scheme, the main outfit was grey with silver kaam and piping of teal. I paid the full amount via western union. Xenab was coming over to London for an exhibition and said she would bring my outfit with her. The outfit was completed in time for her London trip and she bought it across with her (approx 3 weeks). I briefly spoke to Xenab and she assured me the outfit looked lovely and her contact in London would post it across to me. Unfortuntely i didnt see any pictures of the completed outfit beforehand. I assume this was because of the speed it was completed and there wasnt time as she was coming over to the UK. The outfit was posted out to me via Royal mail, it was packed beautifully, in a special Xenab bag, the outfit itself was gorgeous. It was exactly what i wanted, lovely material and the kaam was fantastic. A very stylish and Elegant outfit BUT (here it comes) Unfortunately the "Gulla" was way to tight, i couldnt actually get my head throught it :( and the churidaar didnt fit either. I was absolutely gutted.
I contacted Xenab and she was very very apologetic and asked me to send the outfit back straight away and she would remedy the problem immiediately. She also said she would pay the return shipping cost. I contacted DHL who wanted approx £70, I actually felt this way to much. I know she said she would pay the postage but i thought the DHL price was way to steep.
i then went down to the Post office and they gave me three different quotes for 3 different services , roughly £85, £70 and £20 Heres where i made the biggest mistake, I picked the "International signed for delivery" option, it provides tracking until the item exits the UK and then there is a signature on delivery. Also there is added insurance just in case the item is lost in transition.
Guess what guys? My parcel is missing in action! it left the UK ok, got to pakistan and now its gone AWOL. I went down to the post office who cant give me any details except that its in pakistan and I've got to wait until Friday before i can fill out the "missing parcel form", Once I've filled out the Form, the post office in the Uk will make contact with Pakistan and then investigate the matter. The whole process can take upto three months!
I am sooooooo Disappointed and feeling very depressed. As most of you know, i order regularly from our HB girls and this is the first time something has gone so wrong. I'm not blaming anybody, its just kismet i guess.

So in Summary, Xenabs service was very good, great communication thoughout , the outfit produced was gorgeous but unfortunately I no longer have a XEnab original, I reckon the postmasters wife probably had a great EId in one lovely outfit :(

Re: My personal experience with Xenab’s atelier =)

Oh Brummie hun…what bad luck :frowning: ,you must be absoloutely gutted.Wasn’t there some way you could have fixed the gala?..kiya zip nahi thi at the back?..

Why do you say you made a mistake sending it signed for?..isn’t that a good thing??..man,I don’t even send any celebration cards any more 'cos they were being nicked.I really feel your pain, dear.I hardly think they will be treating it as priority, will they?.

I know Xenab is not cheap either and you must’ve thought long and hard before ordering…just wish there was something I could suggest:hug:.I hope they do find it.

Thieving toerags

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

This experience has been really bad so far with Royal Mail, Ive been keeping an eye out for the parcel since she sent it (which was only a few days after my London exhibition) and I checked again today and nothing! Its crazy, even proto had a similar experience recently with a courier service and its pretty scary, because not only do you have to pay for the outfit, but for the postage as well and its all gone down the drain. I still feel if I knew the tracking number as well as the courier service in Pak which Royal Mail uses, I can find where the item is. What do you guys think?

Re: My personal experience with Xenab's atelier =)

I did mention that this Royal Mail service is tantamount to sending untracked. Our local post office is desi run and they said clearly said the International Signed For to Pakistan is no different to sending regular post.
