Re: My outfits
nice outfits, so colorful and do u even get a chance to wear all of them???
Re: My outfits
Pagaldeewani: The pinkish one, I'm assuming, you're asking about? I would probably sell that for $175.00 to $200.00. :) If it was used, it would probably sell for $125.00 ish.
CymaKhan: I have a lot of social functions, and I try to wear them there. A lot of times I will get a suit that I don't like or I already have too many in that colors. I sell them. I am really into sarees now. I'll try to post pictures of some of them.
Huma Ayyaz: No offense taken, to each his or her own though. :) Um, I know these are not the latest style but two things to note: 1. These are the suits I have already sold (perhaps even a year ago or more). 2. I try not to get too caught up in the "latest" trend. When I went to India, I bought a lot of super trendy outfits, but then I got really bored of them. Perssnally, I like suits that aren't overly trendy. :) If I am going to spend a LOT of money, I want it to be evergreen.
Also, if anyone is interested, my sister-in-law does custom orders. She does a good amount of weddings and used to do some really cool stuff when she lived overseas.
Regards, and Take Care! :)
Re: My outfits
i had a horrible experience the other day. i still can't believe the nerve some people have. i needed a formal shalwar kameez. i looked every where in nj and even the online boutiques but couldn't find anything. i also design clothes but unfortunately i didn't have enough time to design my own outfit and then get it made in pakistan and have it sent to me (i needed the outfit by this saturday). so finally remember a fashion show that i went to and i remember that one of the designers had really cute shalwar kameez. i called the lady up and made an appointment for the next day to go see the outfits. i had to drive 2 hours to get to her house so that should tell you that at this point i was kind of desperate. anyways, i picked out an outfit that she said she had copied from an umar sayeed design. it was cute but was pretty simply...some work done on the neck, the sleeves, and the bottom of the shirt with a plain dupatta and plain shalwar. She had discribed the outfit to me on the phone and had said it was around $200.00. But when she found out that i liked it and needed it badly she told me the price was $650.00!!!!!!! i couldn't believe it!! i thought she was crazy!! first of all it was a copy of an umar sayeed design not even an original!! second i've designed plenty of outfits and have sold them and i would never think to charge someone $650 for something that didn't even cost $100 to get made. She was trying to make a $550 profit off of me!!
Re: My outfits
So what did u do? Did you yell at her, did you find an outfit yet???
Re: My outfits
i don't know y but my post came up 3 times.
Re: My outfits
no i didn't yell at her but i told her that i also designed clothes and that there is no way the outfit was worth $650. But she insisted that her clients paid that much for her outfits. I don't know anyone who pays that much for a plain shalwar kameez. Then she told me if i wanted a $200 outfit then i should buy one of her plain georgette suits and honestly those suits aren't even worth 500 rupees in karachi. I think she must really be ripping people off by telling them all the crap she said to me until she found out that i knew the prices and that i knew the tailors for maria b. and nadya mistry.
Re: My outfits
who are the tailors for maria b? COme on I will send u cookies, stuff from bath and body, Victorias sectret too ohhh n chocs from Godiva!
Re: My outfits
holly crap! u r rippin ppl off!
Re: My outfits
^^my goodness.
Did u confront her about the price being $200
over the phone?
Re: My outfits
Sajal: I haven't received a call yet. :)
Tikhi: $200 is surprising? I've paid much more for outfits from boutiques in the USA. I guess it's all about supply and demand. :)
KhuShi: I've taken the links down.
Take care all and Regards!
Re: My outfits
yeah i did confront her but she totally denied it. so there was not much else i could do.
Re: My outfits
u probably are always dressed best when it comes to shadis etc.
