My official stance on Musharraf

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Iskandier Mirza was from a Persian speaking family......and had very little association with Bengal (besides mass arresting anyone who disagreed with him)..place of birth is not an accurate way of judging a persons ethnic background..next you'll be telling me Zia and Yahya Khan are Pashtuns because they have spent long periods of time in Peshawar

Iskandier Mirza and Mushy have a lot in common...for those who know a thing about Pak history..both created unwieldy political alliances from rump Muslim leagues with groups which were on the other end of the spectrum..both believed in controlled democracy...etc

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Zakk, everyone believes in controlled politics, be it through military might, rigging the elections, appointing own judges and then screwing the opposition, its all the same thing.

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Agreed AJ..but the people when left to their own devices ..do know best..

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Yes, Iskander Mirza (like Yahya Khan) was of Persian descent, and a Shia Muslim. But he was not a ‘Mohajir’ from India, like Musharraf ,as you stated.

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Reza, r u the deported king of Iran?

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

have we stopped discovering the real damages from the rule of nawaz and BB?

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

and the so called leaders like BB and Nawaz either had no say and were thus impotent and ineffective rulers who had no business running the country, or that they were in agreement with this and thus share the blame.

Pick one

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

Fraudz replace the premise behind your reply with AQ Khan over the Afghan Jihad and replace BB and Nawaz with Musharraf..and you get an interesting counter argument…

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

So the argument is “a powerfull bunch of idiots is much prefereable over ineffective yet mind-ur-own-business type civilian leaders”???

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

nope- i will let you figure out the argument

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

lets deal with the basic argument before we run into counter arguments
btw. timeline of qadeer’s activities goes before musharraf’s time also, so the counter argument circles back to the initial argument..

the circle is now complete

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

The difference being I am not defending BB and Nawaz..just making the observation that Mushy has worked impressively hard to become the exact thing he supposedly opposed..mind you BB and Nawaz could never “move beyond stated opinion” on Kashmir or they’d have been lynched by the Army..neither could they go so far in appeasing the yanks because being politicians they have to think about the next election…

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

No, he died in Egypt sometime ago…This has to be his successor Raza Pehlvi the II…

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

NS and Z Bhutto were even maligned for buying some kind of respect to otherwise shameful defeats

Re: My official stance on Musharraf

^^At least one of them engineered the defeat himself and directly benefitted from it....
