It has to be one coz Gulabi urdu can only mean that she speals one or the other, other wise she wouldnt be told she speaks gulabi urdu :halo:

I speak mainly english and then punjabi with half my rishtadaar and urdu with the other-half of our khaandaan...

Well what you just said here that definately means that you speak gulabi urdu indirectly.
When you speak a sentence in english but you drop a few words of urdu or punjabi here and there then thats directly gulabi urdu/punjabi.
What do u like speaking more?

i love urdu but as im not that fluent i speak punjabi more, maybe cos my direct family speak punjabi in d house more than urdu...
i especially love urdu shair-o-shairy and would love to be able to speak more of urdu...

Well personally like urdu myself as i can speak it, understand write it but am not at that level where i can undertand poetry coz ths waay out my league.
Well learning Urdu is hard although i learnt it from my parents. Well the best way to learn it is to read books and newspapers and keep a dictionary by the your side.

i do all that already and also write letters in urdu to few friends abroad but its still classed as 'gulaabi urdu' they say....
one thing is for sure, ppl get a right laugh out of me conversing in urdu wid them, also punjabi, thats no better - but i keep trying, will never give up....

Well thats the spirit ... not to give up.
let em laugh coz your learning urdu for your benifit and not them, they ll at loss if they dont know udru properly them selves and you have to be embarrased your self too at start as nothing in life comes easy
