Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
^ Ha ha. You are still waiting for Pakistani mangoes. They were supposed to sweeten relations with the US back in 2011.
I wouldn’t hold my breathe.
They might even lose permission in UAE and EU if there are more complaints about fly-ridden mangoes going out there.
Pakistan’s mangoes sweeten relations with US | GlobalPost
Quoting from the article for the kind information of Mr. Faakhtaa:
“Pakistani mangos have a kind of mythical aura about them. They are sweeter than the Indian or Indonesian mangoes that are typically available in the United States and,** as anyone who has had them will say, there is no alternative.**”
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Hope you are also not prejudiced against the kuddoo-tasting mangoes from South America. ![]()
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Only Pakistani mangoes, I don’t taste any other, exception being Alfanso.
Ooh I don’t discriminate between mangoes. I love any Pakistani aam

Baar di shey tau khair aap bhi hain. That doesn’t say ANYTHING.
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Ratol and Sindhri are both pretty awesome. Haven’t had good Pakistani mangoes in ages :hinna:
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
What is an amrood?
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Acha
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Ah yes the amrood.
I have fond memories from my childhood where we would hear “Jaaaaaaam Waaalaaaaayyyy YA!” coming from outside the house. We would run out on the streets to catch the guy and buy some naice frash jaams (amrood) where he would slice em and pour that magic masala on top to make it a bit spicy/chatak type.

wow! yesss…that masala was incredible. i and my friends in High School used to skip our classes and went to the nearby Thelewala selling colorful amroods with magical masala…we had surKhaa guavas, yellow guavas and two other exotic types…red spotted ones with green pulp inside and the red guavas with red pulp inside…what nostalgic memories. kaash ham ko vo din phir se moyassar aa jaayeN. ![]()

Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
Very bad! EU ban on Indian and Pakistani mangoes this year!
The ban on Indian mango recently imposed by the European Union (EU) not pakistani mangoes actually.. and it is likely to give a major boost to the exports of Pakistani mango to the European markets but for that they will have to inatall hot water treatment plant for mangoes to fulfil all requirements of EU.
Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
I couple of weeks back I got some really tasty ones from two big desi vendors here Patel Bros and Apna Bazar. Those were great, but again, still not like the ones I’ve eaten in Pak. Sigh..
I think we should request Fawad Pai of American bureaue that he makes arrangement for us instead of posting in unreadable font in PA forum. oops

Re: My love affair with ‘Chaunsa’!
No ban on Pakistani mangoes by EU.
