My canvas is lying at Mumani’s place I had given it to her to draw (:sid: I cant draw well) and then I’d paint.
Vacation is starting soon , I should remind her again

Waleed is already my fan.

My grand daughter is quite into drawing, I could get her to draw various things and than scan and post them. How about it. It will be child’s drawings so might not be that neat.

@Contrarian - I first got the logo from the website, printed it, then put a grid around it in pencil. I made a grid on the canvas in pencil but bigger and that helped me enlarge the image by hand. There is a repeating pattern so I traced it and transfered the trace 7 times to make the flower … the basic pattern is the name “Muhammad” … I used the grid on the paper to help me keep the symmetry … Easy !!!

After a full pencil layout I painted the black parts, then the medium gold colour, then refined the black edges and highlighted in true gold and off white for opposite edges … The planning for a painting can take much longer than the painting itself, but I feel that the longer the planning the better the results … inshaAllah.

Thanks! Very informative. I never quite learned the grid technique. One last question, is there anyway to thicken the acrylic to get some texture and maybe shininess?

Yes ... I never buy thin acrylic paint - the thicker variety is more expensive but then you know you have thick and can thin it out ... Also, there is a Gloss Gel for acrylic you can buy too - I did use gloss in my painting too. I've been doing watercolour and acrylic on paper until now - but canvas is fun!

ehsan uncle it will be great, forget about neatness, its the painting n these drawing r actually are emotions tht are conveyed without using gramtical words, no doubt children have their own small world, n would love to c the creativity n thinking of the kids, n practice makes perfect.and i m looking forward to those drawings.

when i took admission for drawing i know how pathetic i was but gradually wth time it improved.
