haan haan, take all the pleasure in my misery..![]()
But, yaad ruko, it could be you next…![]()
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
The worst thing about this, outside of the fact that I missed my flight and was completely uncompensated for the extra one hundred dollars I had to dish out, was the way they make you feel like some kind of criminal…
For all the guys that think this is ok, well, thats debatable, I mean shouldnt we also pull over blacks driving a nice car?!?!..
I think even and apology and an explanation after you go thru the process would be nice.. It could simply saw “We apologize for the inconvenience, but we appreciate your patience and understanding in light of the previling citcumstances..” I mean is that so hard! But nooooo, they ass rape you and then throw you back into the world like the worthless piece of worthless trash you are… ![]()
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
hmmm… What do they usually suspect you of? I mean, do they simply ask you questions and let you go?
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
But the important thing is that we are more secure and have more freedom.
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
Although I understand the situation is such that this sorta sacrfice is inevitable, I dont know if we are really secure. I mean, imagine someone who is a real good actor and has no history of any terrorsit activity who gets by these guys. What will happen then?
So I dont now if the sacrafice is truly making anyone any safer.. The day the US realizes that its policy is somewhat at fault, we may then be a bit safer.

^You call yourself PaKpatriot and expect to be treated as an American citizen.

I call myself Teen Dabby Wala, but I am not really a teen dabby wala.
or am I?
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
@ Pakipatriot1
Bas, ghabra gaeey yaar.
Look at me, I travelled to USA from Toronto many times soon after 9/11 and I had a green passport then. And What happened to me at George Bush International Airport was more horrible than you, I also missed my flight because of INS. They could easily prove me a terrorist, but Allah saved me. That was not the only incidence, I have passed through this situation many times, even now a days with a Canadian Passport.
Aik baat bataoon. There is nothing wrong with the green passport. They don’t care about the green passport or blue passport. All that matters to them is “Islam” and "Muslims’…
Looks like George W. Bush Airport in Houston is quite notorious. Their terminals are located so far away from each other and Terminal D is the one where INS was located. My flight was from Terminal A…
Khair, even then, I say Pakistan Zindabad ![]()
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
Despite all this crap about “more security” (which is a myth) that has been posted by some members in this thread as well:
Why do you blame Pakistan or your Pakistani origin for the wrongdoings of the US Government?
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
So what happened? Details?
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
Haan I can Imagine…
It must suck. Texas does seem to be rather notorious..
They picked me because apparently my name matched someone on te terror list.
The worst thing outside of having to pay an extra 100 dollars for a hotle room, is the fact that they are so efficient in hammering into you the fact that regardless of how long you have been in the states and who you are, you will never be accpeted as an American… Quite sad..
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
I dont blame Pakistan or my Pakistani origin.. But the simple fact is though that we as Pakistanis are seen as pariahs, potential threats.. We get absolutely no respect and no dignity, and we simply have to take it as a matter of fact.
Unless we start treating orselves and our country with respect, and the Pakistani govt starts treatng its people wth te respect they deserve this wll always be a problem. We beg the damn Americans for crumbs, passing our begging bowl before them and the rest of the world for whatever paltry crumbs we can get and then we wear them like they were a badge of honor. I mean, is this how we as a major non Nato ally are suppoed to be treated? We as a nation have no self respect, we even kiss Chinese and Arab arse, all while they sleep with India and undermine our nations objectives and goals… Arabs dont even give us an ioda of respect all while we try to be more like tem and admire tem and their crapy society…
Ayaz Amir pointed out that when American govt officials visit India, they are only allowed meetings with their govt equals in Delhi, while in Islamabad the lowest of the low from Washington are gifted meetings with the Prseident and Prime minister. Even Angelina Joli was allowed a meeting with Shaukat Aziz ![]()
Even our own people dont respect the country, half the uys on tis ste dont even consider temselves Pakistani and the rest will let anyone, even the Indians walk all over the country and not even be brave enough to give them a respojnse… Stand up for yourselves god damn it…
So what can we expect from others when we ourselves have no respect for ourselves and our country…
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security...
Security thats based on racial profiling is useless.. How for example would the stop some white faced Pathan or other White faced Arab for example with a name that can pass as chiristian or jewish that carries a British or American passport?
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
Its how you look and not the religion the reason for this profiling. Maybe some plastic surgery and idendity change might help you escape this treatment ![]()
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security…
It wont but in the mean time it will stop those with Muslim names and desi looks.
Think about it from a security and freedom point of view. More security = More freedom.
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security...
The inconvenience is regrettable - but what alternatives exist? Any suggestions on how to prevent the crackpots from getting into the planes?
All Pakistanis suffer because of the extremist, Indians suffer because they look similar, everyone else suffer because the lines are longer.
Still a lot better than suffering at the hands of suicide bombers like in middle east and Kashmir etc
Re: My close encounter with Homeland security...
I travelled to the US recently for a few weeks and I was invariably 'selected' for special treatment more than a few time. I am neither muslim nor carry a green passport. But what I did notice was that in many cases (apart from me ofcourse :-) ), there indeed were random selections. More than a couple of instances I noticed that goras, including women were made to go through these special security checks.
I have conflicting opinions about this. I believe that these searches by themselves do not result in capturing or apprehending terrorists. But it has been my experience that such frisking at factory gates in many third world countries reduce chances of theft or such things.
I suppose I just grin and bear it. I should say though, that while the security agents are not apologetic about having to search you, they are invariably polite about it.
