I think we have diverted enuf. Getting back to the point, i think the act of the couple mentioned in the first post is not against islam, but well within it. I am sure all of us have heard the hadith that there are broadly speaking, three levels of faith. The last one being, if you see something which is not according to Islam, condemn it in heart and that is the least level. Wallahu A’lam. They also, might have avoided confrontation coz of lack of relevant knowledge as the person chanting about 4 wives was a proper cleric (if i am not wrong)

You are right as far as 4 wives are concered. If i am not wrong, one can bear 4, if he can and is able to fulfill rights of all four of them. This means that Islam doesn’t give license to have 4 wives automatically, and most definately not just for pleasure-seeking activties-which is the point the confronts try to drive home. Please enlighten.
