Semi, whatever is willing and available. My Hindu friends tell me that if I let him into my mosque, they will even worship my Allah.
Semoline, you can use the word in different contexts, to idolize, to worship or to revere all are synonyms but used in a different context can mean a totally different thing. I think some people's addiction to gupshup is close to a worship.
ahmadjee, I agree. But I think the term idolize or revere are actually even closer to the relationship that most Muslims have with Muhammed. Whether or not it says so in Quran, the practice of most Muslims seems to be to idolize, worship, follow, revere, adore, apotheosize, whatever you want to call it.
I think it shouldn’t matter what path we take to attain spiritually, be it by singing, by banging our heads, by smoking dope (as in Rastafarian), so long as we feel closer to whoever we want to feel closer to, it is ok. To be confined and restricted to just one form of worship is a very narrow-minded way of looking at it. I feel closer to my God when I help an injured dog than I will ever by praying in a mosque.
Right on, NY. I feel closer to God in my garden than I do in any other house of worship.
