Good for her. She’s pretty and intelligent and I wish her the best of luck. But what’s with the “I want to be a role model for muslim women?” My idea of a role model among muslim women is someone who knows how to balance between deen & duniya. She sure can be a role model for desi girls in general but these competitions have nothing to do with Islam.

I think you are half right.
She’s pretty.
And intelligent woman would not have said that she wants to be a “role model from muslim women”.
That’s just asking for trouble…
