That would be the Church of Latter Day Saints, a.k.a. the Mormons. Yes, they definitely do their own thing. In concept, the religion seems to share a lot in common w/Islam. A post-jesus prophet who was spoken to directly by God.

I don't think they consider themselves christian any more than muslims do but I may be wrong. I would think that they aren't technically christians because they have their own prophet who's teachings differed, and they believe a lot of weird stuff like the more wives you have then the higher plane you achieve in heaven.
