Re: Musharraf’s rating plumments
The PPP was actually quite interested in the survey. They [PPP leaders] were given presentations by the IRI in Dubai.
IIRC, it was PML-N who had issues with it because earlier surveys suggested minuscule support for the party and the leader.

Eight years of *Shauky baba aur chalees chor *and we end up with a Pakistani who is more concerned about Inflation and unemployment today than Terrorism. More importantly, this survey suggests that the Liberal versus Extremist election, it is going to be not.

If the above is not straight forward enough, then the following should be shown
to the President with a chillu of panni. Not only has he turned out to be an incompetent leader, it appears but in what could be last days of his presidency, he is more discredited and disliked than the very people he wanted to be discredited and disliked for eight years. Ironic?

But Pakistani politicians have a strange way of redeeming themselves. I’ll give you that incumbency plays its part in the rating. Maybe the general should conspire to have him thrown out of the Presidency by force. That way he can come back riding on a wave of unprecedented popularity within a decade, claiming innocence and playing victim to Establishment. Works every time. ![]()
