I think the decision should be kept pending until Nawaz takes over as Prime Minster. Let him make the decision now, as he is only 2 days away from becoming the PM. Keeping him another 1-2 days in custody wont make a difference.

that’s the whole point…Nawaz Shareef wants to get rid of the problem before hand. the army will NOT like to see one of their own dragged around in the mess that has to follow after the oath-taking ceremony.
