Musharraf has done virtually nothing for Karachi....we don't even have enough power half the day!

so are many other parts of the country. i don't care what Musharraf does for Karachi or Lahore in his personal capacity. The question is if every part/city of the country is getting its fair share?
Karachi Budget for 2006-2007 = 44 billion rupees
Lahore Budget for 2006-2007 = 21.6 billion rupees
Balochistan Budget for 2006-2007 = 59.69 billion rupees
I know Karachi earns more and deserves more than any other city of Pakistan, but somehow I'm more concerned about the Budget of Balochistan than what Musharraf is doing for Lahore and Karachi. Mega projects are all good. But the money should go through the provincial assemblies otherwise they'd always feel deprived irrespective of the money you have invested in that region.
From what I hear, it wasnt really Nawaz Sharif, but Shabaz Sharif that helped Lahore… There is no doubt that Shabaz Sharif is a capable planner. His brother leaves much to be desired however.
Still, Musharaf has completed a few big projects, particularly Gawadar which has been on the card for as far back as the 60’s when it was first recognized as being strategically important.
Musharraf seems to be doing better than the previous governments but some complaints made here about the lack of attention paid to Karachi are valid. I am still waiting for the day when we will see the Karachi Circular Railway revived and running. This would not only provide cheap means of transport to the local people but also weaken the hold of the notorious transport mafia over the transport sector within Karachi.
