Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

^ i agree taali aik haath say nahin bajti. One party alone cannot bring peace when the other party is beating war drums.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

LOL... Did you even watch the video? At which point was he displaying any sort of "bud-tammizi"?

I mean he even made the point over and over that such tensions are not productive for anyone and the rhetoric needs to come down. He didnt even defend Pakistan, he simply stated facts as far as he knew. It was the host that began demonizing Pakistan.

If anything, the host was bud-tammiz, and Mush should be credited for putting up with such bs.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

Interesting to see how Indian media is trying to hype the issue and how the compere is conducting the interview:

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

that anchor hosts a talk show...and he doesn't allow panelist to answer his questions properly if they have a different view...

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

the anchor is interrupting Pakistanis in this show again. He is asking Pakistani media not to blindly agree with Pakistani army, where as we can easily see who he is blindly following.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

Pot calling the kettle black :smack:

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

he gives uninterrupted airtime to only those who are in agreement with him....

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

The anchor's tameez can be seen on the second part very clearly. This channel "Times Now" is the front runner in "Aman ki Aasha". :D

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

“Shame on him” for trying to defend Pakistan in front of a media filling with hatred against Pakistan?!

There is not much mention of events at LoC in Pakistan but Indian media is going berserk on this. Even moderate politicians like Sonia Gandhi are putting all blame on Pakistan, and in this frenzy Pak hockey team players have been sent home.

It is difficult to understand why people would rebuke someone who defends Pakistan and its armed forces in this situation.

I think his representation in front of Indian media has been quite good. Besides this video, Musharraf very eloquently put forward Pakistan’s case when he went to India for resolution of Kashmir issue. I remember that his presentation of Pakistan’s case was impressive in front of the Indian press which always see just one side of story.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

I am not ready to beat war drums as yet..

A person like Musharraf who has a certain perception because of Kargil mis adventure should not have gone to Indian media in the first place if he had Pakistani interest in mind. It's time to talk with sanity on Indian media.. not everyone in India is a hate monger against Pakistan.

I have not seen the complete interview. The clips which were shown on Pakistani media were enough to make "India Hate Club" in Pakistan go euphoric. The army man turned failed politician tried to gain some mileage from this specific "Hate Club" to give some respite to his otherwise doomed political career.. There is no need to glorify Musharraf for his attempts to exploit this volatile situation between two neighboring countries.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

No spin zone.

( in case it was not clear, this guys show parallels Bill O Reilly's show. Watched him couple of times - don't know his name or show title. He is a ratings chasers - content and equal time for guests thrown out the window.

IMO this interview helped both petsons. His ratings go up. General Musharraf's image gets enhanced in his home country. Bet both are happy.

Let us put a temporary stop on such threads. Fomenting anger against each other is damaging.

If we want to throw verbal volleys, come on over to Cricketnama. Let us have fake fights over Dhonis MoM awards. Bas.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

OmG! i cannot stand this Indian journalist. Utterly rude with no professionalism. As a journalist, you are neutral in your approach but again it is India for you.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

Im glad someone had to guts to go on indian TV and set the record straight without going on the defensive when the host was throwing all kinds of fabricated "facts" and quote uncorroborated sources from Pakistani media. It may look bud-tameezi to you personally but thats prolly cos of your inherent dislike for the man. I for one dont want any apologist from our side to go on their media and play victim to their blame game.

And Mushy is right, if you wanna talk about Kargil, talk about the root cause and talk about Siachen first. You cannot be selective about the topic and discuss it as an isolated issue.

Lastly, Mushy was right when he said that even though we have internal issue of terrorism which our Army is dealing with but India should not take it as our weakness because any misadventure from their side whether on LoC or elsewhere will be handled accordingly by Pak Army.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

Indian media is too commercialised for its own good. War-mongering all the time won't help. After all you are talking about around 1.5 billion people in two countries.

Re: Musharraf defends Pakistan Army on Indian Media

I dont really have an issue with Musharraf. He did what he did, and so have countless equally corrupt politicians and generals before him. infact, Musharaf is the least of all evils among Pakistan. Misadventures are a hallmark of both sides, life goes on.

And this isnt an issue of war or hate mongering. At no point in that video did Musharraf express any ill sentiment towards India or Indians, nor did he have an aggressive tone.

Now being an advocate for peace is one thing, but lately it seems our intellectuals have resorted to becoming completely passive and docile. Pakistanis deserve to have their opinion aired, they must defend themselves, you shouldnt sit about and accept such accusations. None of the media in Pakistan and none of the politicians have defended Pakistan against such attacks. Everyone wants peace, but it should be peace with dignity. Call it what you like, but I appreciate Musharraf putting things perspective for such blow hards.

Your not beating the drums of war by defending your countries position.
