I try to give credit where it is due.
In your blind hatred of the military you try to paint every general and every COAS with the same brush! Don’t compare Zia and Musharraf. Zia cleverly used religion to prolong his own rule. Musharraf was more progressive. Credit for the present media freedom and expansion of private media channels in Pakistan goes to him. Not saying he did not make mistakes (NRO, He was right to join WOT but blind subordination of the US was not necessary) but the first 2-3 years of Mushy’s rule were better than this sham democracy that we have right now.
Benazir was killed by TTP the same guys who tried to kill Musharraf as well not once but thrice (but failed)
And as Musharraf rightly points out one must ask who who was the greatest beneficiary of BB’s murder… undoubtedly Asif Ali Zardari
Who asked BB to stick her head out of the car roof and wave to her supporters? Was it really necessary given the prevailing security situation in the country and given that she had already been advised by the agencies about the threat from Taliban. She had just finished delivering her speech and was well on her way home. Had she not done that she would have survived just like others in the same bullet and bomb proof car such as Naheed Khan and Shireen Mazari. Security personnel had done their job up until that point. Who asked her to do that? Who called her? Was it Zardari or someone-else who had been directed by Zardari to do so. This point is very valid and needs to be investigated and the investigation should include Zardari as well
