Dennis Amiss was an English opener who made his Test cricket debut under the leadership of Tony Lewis during 1972 India Tour. Barry Wood Tony Greig Chris Old Arnold were others who also made their debut.
There was a changing of the guard. Boycott Luckhurst Illingworth etc did not come with team. I vaguely recall some issues with MCC politics.
