Fighting illegitimate Russian and American occupations in Afghanistan can be understood.
Fighting Pakistan has no logical explanation.
What you said above may be the stated goal to play for the gallery and to be used by the enemies of Pakistan.
They are just a tool in their hands.

Either way, whatever their justification or the stated end goal, there is no confusion or khush-fehmi about India’s role vis-a-vis Pakistan.

The Indian establishment is very smart and sneaky.
They have co-opted the 'ban to seek revenge from Pakistan for supporting the insurgency in the Indian occupied Kashmir in the 90s.
Whereas, most Pakistani leaders are corrupt. They would sell their motherland for personal gain.
