My mom wore a deep red saree with heavy work. A couple of aunties were like haww, why are you wearing this color blah blah but till this day, so many people cannot stop saying how gorgeous the saree was and how beautiful my mom looked.
If your mom likes it and it suits her, that's all that matters.
