No GPS is more complex. Think of it you are moving and the technology is calculating your position every nano second to keep track of where you are and guiding you live.
Cell Phone can only beat it if GPS is built in it. I wanted to say cell phone but I did not.

all GPS does is take signals from at least 3 different satellites, read them calculate its own position and display.
It by far not as complex as cell phone
