I think this makes sense but there’s always going to be people who think giving someone money/gifts absolves them from any responsibilities…
A couple may not fight over having too much money but a guy can treat his wife badly and then think buying her a gift will make up for it without working on the issue at hand (why did he treat her badly/what events lead to that fight/incident). The girl may think she has no right to complain because he gave her something..
