sometimes if im really busy and doing something i cant get away from easily and kids are going bananas, I pull out a pack of nerds from my emergancy stash and it keeps them busy for a while. [they love that candy and dont get it often so its a special treat, plus they are so small it takes them forever to eat them hahahhaha]
the last hour before their bedtime I start counting down the minutes...it's the longest hour of my day.
same as above, I leave them in the bath a little longer sometimes and I thread or put oil in my hair after a million years of not doing it, and i pretend I leave them there because they are having fun [which they are but thats besides the point!] lol.
sometimes when my son poos in his diaper and my husband is home, I pretend I dont notice so he notices first and has to change it :)
Heres one off the top of my head...theres tons more lol but for some reason this comes to mind immediately.
Eldest son had a really tough time with constipation and maybe cause of that, potty training was really tough for him. I figured he might need less stress to "go" so I left the bathroom and let him sit. I stayed nearby and heard him chatting to his little self and he was mostly saying "all stuck. alllllllllllllllllllllll stuck." I figured poor little guy, he must really be constipated today. After a (pretty long) good while, I went in and there he was - indeed all stuck - butt way in the potty and knees to nose.
LOL Mama....Poor kid though. I remember when my daughter almost fell in the big potty too. Luckily I was close by and pulled her up almost immediately, but that expression on her face was classic. She was so shocked. Anyway while we are on the subject....I am glad I finally got her out of the habit of proudly announcing how many "plops" she had done when she finishes....it was getting rather embarrassing as you might imagine.
I get them paint and paint brushes for the $ store and I let them looooose on the dinette with lots of paper (sorry trees). It keeps them contained for about an hour.
