Mommy Confessions

So I am not sure if this comes in Mommy Confessions thread or Most Embarassing Moments thread!! But anyway here goes...

Often I am guilty of not listening to my kids. I mean I hear them, but just the sound waves as I have a gazillion things on my mind and so I nod yeah yeah especially at the end of the day when all I can think of is "when is their bedtime??"

All this changed after an incident about 10-12 days ago. In the supermarket with my kids and my 4 year old daughter asks me a question "Is it bad to do this?" I was busy comparing products and prices on the shelves so I say " One minute I am little busy". But she persisted. So I absent minded kept saying "Yes yes" I think I had heard her asking me the question about 4 times when I finally looked down at her.

My heart nearly stopped....she was holding up her middle finger and asking "Is it bad to do this?" Aaaargh! Noooo! I quickly covered up her hand with mine and first looked around to see if anyone had seen this!!!

Then I had to find out how and what etc. Turns out a girl from school was telling the children "You know its bad to do this"

Wow...since then, I have started paying attention when they say something...no matter what!!

PS and as the thread starter mentioned...no criticisms please.

Edit:
Oh I finally did it...Reached 1000 posts :)
