I think the issue is that the rich want the best of the best, and that’s why they go overseas for such medical procedures.

I do not know about other cities, but the Rawalpindi Cardiology Hospital that Shahbaz Sharif opened is great, my dad went there (he had just gotten stents installed in the US) but had a bit of a complication in Pakistan which had to be addressed immediately. He went there and they immediately had him in there for checkups without any waits and everything was free of cost too although he did not get major procedure from there done (honestly, for something major we would have had him come to the US, no matter how good the facility was).

Healthcare sector needs a lot more attention in Pakistan but the social point that you raised is also important. based on what I heard from some of my friends in isl and pindi area, Rawalpindi Cardiology Hospital that Shahabaz opened in 2012 and that you mentioned above has a very good reputation. It has many departments and is one of the well-equipped hospital in the country but those who can afford will always go abroad no matter what. I remember itefaq hospital in model town that sharifs built in 80s used to be very good (we used it many times in late 90s including some surgical needs) but rich folks in Model town and Gulburg used to go to UK or USA for simple stuff insetad of uding itefaq. . Nawaz as PM could have set an example by going to rawalpindi hospital unless his situation was too complex
