Re: Mohammed Asif pulled up by match referee
:k:
I overwhelmingly am in agreeance with the decision. It was an appalling show of sportsmanship by Mohammad Asif, and vice-captain or not, if I was in place of him, I also had to concur that the act itself (and his previous shows) serve no place. The ICC has vastly displayed her double standards in the past which have run nowhere but rampant, and for all practical purposes, this serves as a wake-up call for our own behavior in the field and it strongly continues to follow that the basic game of cricket and the rules following it are above than the players - including all captains and vices - who play it. If a third party continues to drag itself below the scale every time, why should we - or anyone else for that matter - follow their pathetic footsteps?
I am glad now that a separate thread is opened on this. It seems only yesterday when Akhtar and Afridi chose to bring in close family members of Indian cricket team in the field during play, and Lord knows how that can even be considered as anything but decent.
