Re: Moderators & their criteria for warnings to Older GS members
Ehsan,
hi. i truly feel that at times, in GS threads, we have some kind of moderator-GS thread-maker’s back and forth fights that go on, or have went on & it seems to be an unresolved grudge of some sort, operating in the back of the mind.
i'm not going to call out any name, as i personally always allow benefit of doubt, but this particular mod has been rude to me, as well as to others.
perhaps, we need to be better able at judging each other, before things escalate & some GS members, who otherwise, enjoy and contribute well in the posts, become disheartened and leave.
no, its not you nor Shikra in this instance or most of the others, but one or two.
don't mods have to tell each other as to why a particular thread-maker is warned, or the thread is locked, or banned.
also, as an observing person, i do look out for others & i think most of us GSers do that to protect each other from undue attacks by other GS ers or Mods. & it is a good thing. we are educated, young adults & in many cases, professionals as well, living & working abroad, each one of us has original view points to bounce off of each other, but it must not become a slinging game.
any 3rd person, in her/his right mind can see & read between the lines, noticing the effect of an uncalled for spot-lighting & augmenting attitude that does not clarify or justify why a particular thread is closed out.
in the interest of social harmony, purity of interrelations among the Pakistani/Muslim & other youth who come to GS for didactic fun as well as serious debate & exchange of ideas, any sound resolution will be good.
each person has the right to their opinions, unless they border on deception, wickedness or obscene remarks on sacred symbols ot values of others.
spelling noun words, differently, or making a statement that creates tongue in cheek humor to point out a fact about something should not be the reasons as to why GSers are made to feel pinned, warned disproportionately, or eventually self-deprive themselves of contributing to GS. plus we should not be afraid to call a spade a spade. it is ideal to keep non adversarial attitude and intentions to keep GS meaningful & constructive.
thanks for being nice ur self & taking this appropriately seriously.
