I am with @Southie here. A black person in America is born with certain disadvantages. There is mutual distrust between the black community and the Police and that gap is hard to bridge when the Police is predominantly white. If you have lived in the south for any amount of time, you will see this first hand. The problem in Fergusan is not about the shooting itself, but how the kid was profiled. The cop decided that he was guilty and had that confrontation that led to the shooting. Grand jury could have indicted him and let the court sort out the culpability. But no; they have to protect their own. I am against vigilantism, but this rage is justified.

If all accounts to believe, that 18yo young man was not profiled. He robbed a convenience store (caught on tape) and was intercepted by COP while trying to get away. He then instead of turning himself in, attacked the cop and tried to gain access to his weapon. Struggle went on for around 30 seconds, he then tried to ran away, COP came out of car and followed him. He then stopped, turned back and tried to rush towards cop again and was shot at that point.

Its pretty simple to me. Once you do not follow COPs instructions (and you attack them on top of it), all bets are OFF. Cops has to make split second decision which can make a difference b/w their life and death.
