Instead of blaming the victims, how about blaming the culprits for a change? It is the same mentality that blames a victim of rape instead of the rapist. It is the same mentality that doesn’t allow women to drive in Saudi. It is the same mentality which justifies some men to abuse women who come out without accompanying a male relative.

The issue is not separate residential areas. Because such a thinking has no end. Tomorrow there will be objection on separate mosques, different names, religious processions, and what not.

So kchughtai, do understand that the issue is extremist ideologies spreading in the country. Such a mentality will kill people whether they live in mixed houses or separate houses, whether they pray in a separate mosques or same mosques.

please read carefully what I wrote. I DID NOT blame the victims for crying out loud. should I quickly conclude from your post that you support segregation and sectarianism within society? - duh..
Yes I condemn the culprits. Always do. perhaps you didn’t read my comments on Saudi atrocities.

The blasphemy law is not the root of the problem. The problems are much deeper. This perverse ,roting, religious yet Godless society has become in itself a blasphemy to the holy name and character of our holy prophet. I am sure no such incident of blasphemy has occurred. if it had, the ‘devout muslims’ should have kept their emotions under control and let the authorities do their job. Where is the patience that our prophet (pbuh) and his disciples preached and practiced against odds. Where is the teaching that the reaction should never exceed action. if one idiot had done or said something why 100 houses were burnt.

The ‘devout Muslims’ will not get any punishment for the horrendous things they have done to many fellow Pakistanis. In case, judiciary / law apprehend them, the maulanas will come to their rescue. Ahhh What to do?

Now please don’t jump the gun and say that I support the law.

having said that, what I pointed out is not completely baseless. perhaps you forgot the incidents of hazaras, shias and christians where the terrorists so easily targeted them within their towns and colonies. What I suggested is to turn their vulnerability into their strength.

So instead of blaming the victims, it is better to blame the places where the hateful ideology nurtures. Stop the madrassahs causing religious hatred, stop the government’s collusion with extremists, stop fundings of extremists from our brotherly countries in the Middle East.

Yes I support all what you have suggested (highlighted) but all these are wishful thinking and victims and potential victims should not wait on the freaking bright future of this country when there will be no extremism and people start respecting each other and not try to earn respect thru ‘gunda gardi’. enough said.
