Re: Mission Impossible III
Not enough classic 'Mission Impossible' scenes in this one. The story was weak as well, another inside job and the world is against Tom Cruise.
Still a good movie though. :)
Re: Mission Impossible III
Next weekend.

hey Nia did you love the part where a nurse shoots down the bad guys :D
Re: Mission Impossible III
It was intesnse and suspensful with plentiful plot twists (unlike MI:2) and the signature Ethan Hunt aerial acrobatics from previous two movies. Lots and lots of explosions, moles in the agency, Ethan being set up by his own boss and framed and becoming enemy of the state and trying to prove his innocence all the while protecting his friends and girlfrield and running thru the streets of Shanghai.
Ving Rhames (who also starred in I and II) added a bit of humor to the movie. He and Tom are real life friends and the director used that chemistry. I heard Tom did all the stunts himself for the movie. The bad guy, Owen Davian, played Philip Seymour Hoffman doesnt know kung-fu and all but he does plant detonators in peoples head and explodes them for fun. He does enough to make Ethan's life a living hell. The rest of the cast was great too, Laurence Fishburne (from the Matrix series), Michelle Monaghan (attractive chick, from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and Maggie Q (who i thought looked absolutely hot).
As the movie finished and I sat there watching the credits go by I said to myself this was worth the $9. I may go see it again.
Anyone wanna take a guess what Rabbit's foot was?
PS: For those that havent seen the movie, Ethan Hunt dies in the end.
Re: Mission Impossible III
Tom Cruise looks buddha in the movie.. like father of 7 kids.. close to 50 yr old.
Re: Mission Impossible III
well written :k:
and u forgot to mention ethan hunt switch sides (becomes a villan) before dying ![]()
Re: Mission Impossible III
5abi/talha don't sugar coat it ..his head gets blown off..talk about realism!
Re: Mission Impossible III
I liked the idea of the nasal supository for the people i don't like.
Re: Mission Impossible III
For me it was best of MI series but still some action sequence are either too far-fetched and some seemd as if they were not too important and done in a hurry. 'undercooked' is the right term if i am not wrong.
But movie was good at points. Acting wise tom cruise was at his best as he got to play the more emotional and natural side of ethan hunt. Phillip seymour hoffman was not far behind. Story was weak but somewhat stronger than MI2.(that is some credit to MI3)
That vatican scene was too far fetched. Having read Dan Brown's detailed account of vatican city security in 'angels and demons', this one seemed pretty unrealistic but hey movie name is mission impossible so who am I to complain so I tried not to be too hard on MI3.
I would give it a 7 out of 10.
Re: Mission Impossible III
Watched it a few days ago. In my mind, MI franchize is the American version of James Bond. Lots of *tullay, kakiyaaN *and gadgetery. Mi:III fit the profile perfectly. It was entertaining with non-stop action.
To say that the storyline was weak would be an understatement. As a testimony of the lack of importance for any viable storyline, no body knows or cares whats a Rabbit Foot. You see Tom Cruise hanging from a wire over a skyscrapper in Shanghai, playing tennis with security guards, and the paisa is vasool. He pops into the building and emerges five seconds later with the prized Rabbit Foot without even knowing which floor its on, and what it really looks like... and no one bats an eye. Its all irrelevant. You watch Mi:III for the action and the stars, not to understand what the fuss was really about.
For those who have watched the movie, do you think they really blew up the sports car in the Vatican? I thought it was CGI as there is no point in wasting such a nice car, while some friends of mine think it was real and quite possible for a big-budget movie.
Re: Mission Impossible III
Faisal, with a budget over $200 million, i wont be surprised if they did infact blew it up. But I have my doubts.
You waited this long to watch this movie?
Re: Mission Impossible III
Yeah... family left for Pak on Wednesday. Saw two already. Next one on the list is X-Men. :-D
Re: Mission Impossible III
I hope they didn't blow up the car at the Vatican. That would be such a travesty :-(
