hmmm...he shouldn't have done that but since he was surrounded by Hindus in the industry and he occasionally greeted the audience while entering the the hall where live shows were held. he was known to be fairly religious person otherwise. he had to compromise a little in a predominantly Hindu country.

strange but i've also seen Sindhis in Pakistan doing that in Toronto Mushairas. May Allah forgive him for doing so...aameen

AMeen!! yeah even i ve seen a mushaira of Joan eliya he was also paying the same gestures to his fans though i m a die heart fan of joan eliya's poetry but still i didnt like tht hath jorna ksi k agay :S

true. i’m a jety engine of Raf’ii [not just a fan ] and yes, i didn’t like that.

i haven’t read Jon Eliya because i was in India and there they didn’t have on my High School Urdu syllabus. he is NOT very popular in India due to lack of exposure to his poetry.

Learnt something out of life hope would b helpful to u aswell tht never assume anything urself untill u r pretty sure about otherwise sometimes realisation becomes bitter..jee haan mashAllah se urdu ati hai or urdu literature se shaghuf b bohat hai
