sometimes what they call a pulaao is a Qabuli pulaao (cholaY chaawal) and what they call Biryaani is really a Yukhni Pulaao :D
Biryaani for that matter was never a Lahori thing until recently...
I think they still lack SHEER MAAL or may be not now:D

and as for urdu, I agree... even when I speak to my punjabi roommates, many times I am deceived to think that they are speaking to me in punjabi while they are actually speaking in urdu :D
