Don't u think they r in miss world competition because:
they r aggressive, ambitious, and confident in themselves
they r pretty (beauty is off course relevant)
Now, there can be more beautiful girls out there (i believe u may be one, if u think so), who r much prettier, but not very much intersetd/willing to take that challenge of scrutiny and fear of rejection. This makes these competators very couragesous, right?
To me, the most striking feature (read 'sexy') in a girl is her confidence. But off course, it is just me.
yeah, i agree with u there that many educated, balanced, and good women/girls do not get enough attention because physically they r not that beautiful.
It is much like chicken egg problem. Beauty is in demand, and markets (like these competations) supply it. This supply and demand both enforce each other.
Where can we break this vicious circle? I wonder!!!
But i think it from this perspective. In satisfying much of our needs (biological, emotional), we tend to seek instant gratification and stability both. And these two things r often in conflict with each other. u can get one night stand with beautiful partner, but the chances of his/her staying with u for long is dim. Also, u can stay with a low-in-demand person (read ugly) for a long time without worrying about stability factor, but not much gratification.
