Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali elected Prime Minister of Pakistan

PPP is no way loser but losers are those who joined Govt lotas and u havent said anything about horse trading and official pressures on the likes of Faisal Saleh Hayat ? PPP got maximum votes in thses elections much more tahn any other party :k: If PPP had joined with govt u would had said they are done and by not joining ur agaist it again.. PPP did the correct thing .. and those who left it we all know what become of those like jataois and Khars..

As far as Jamali is concerned hes a better person in that boatful of PML (Q) looters and from my school too.. another Aitchisonian :k:

A quote from him

“Respect time, and time will respect you. If you don’t respect time, time will never respect you. And I’m sure the time will never
respect the gentleman, who have betrayed the time.”

People actually laughed a little when they heard him say that.

And my new sig

Mr.Jamali a Gallian.

He went to school at Lawrence College Ghora Gali and has mentioned at numerous ocassions, the impact of schooling at LCGG on his life. Our motto remains “Never Give In”. I have a picture of him getting off the presidential Chopper with General Zia in the Playing field of Prep School of LCGG circa 1985. He looks youger than with dark hair but still heavy set. I will try to post that picture ASAP. Right after his election, he met with Mr.Younis Khan Auditor General of Pakistan who is also an old Gallian from LCGG. It doesn’t come as a surprise to me, I have known this for almost 2 months ahead of time through the old Gallians circle.

Proud to have shared the same experience with Mr.Jamali, always a Gallian. :jhanda:

Well I'm just glad we didn't choose a Mullah! Congrats Pakistan!

:)

The PPPP ended up the biggest losers in all this. It has been relegated to third place behind the MMA, abandoned by the PML (N) who all voted for the MMA, and most damaging of all a split led by the long tern die hards of the PPP like Faisal Saleh Hayat, and Rao Sikander Iqbal. Now the PPP has a choice, to stick with BB and become a historical relic, or move forward with a new and able leadership.

[/QUOTE]

I think both PPP and MMA were using each other get better deal. Both were demanding all or nothing. PPP wanted their dictator (life time elected chair person :D ) back, all corruption cases against her were to be dropped, didn't wanted compromise on LFO, in return it was going to support Q-league. MMA had too many internal problems. They couldn't agree on anything. And their choice for PM wasn't acceptable to our Western friends. Anyway, at the end they both lost big time. Now MMA are confined to NWFP. PPP ended up in third place. And, BB out of country for maybe another 5yrs, which I think is good for Pakistan.

.

You are so ardent and joyful that PPPP (Benazir) got third place, I must remind you that it ended up the with the highest number of votes in Pakistan despite all the rigging, and good ol EU already termed these elections flawed. And I also remind you that these thugz now in power are no better than BB, if you only knew people like Chaudhry Shujaat (local badmash of Gujrat) as well as we do… The new PM and his party have already stooped so low and accepted the LFO, but lets hope that the PPPP and the MMA combined throw this LFO in the realms of the GHQ. The only good thing out this was the fact that this thug Shujaat didnt become the PM, though he still calls the shots.

You should realize that only the Mollahs (Fazlur Rahman and Qazi) spoke about the real problems of the common man in Pakistan. The common man has sufferred in the military dictatorship badly, and only they mentioned things like 'mehngai'. Only Qazi had the guts to mention the American strap around Musharrafs collar (thanks to PTV for blocking that).

has ever in pakistan history PPP accepted its defeat? never they always blame rigging. if there was massive rigging then the so called kings party could have swept through, but these elections brought the real elected one(good or bad).

the local badmash knew he cant cope with PM post so it was his wise step to nominate JAmali.

PPP was a real political force with real bhutto. this bhutto only destroyed its immage! now get the results mate.

shujaat may be a local thug but what will you name MR 10----50%???

And only they are ones who consider OBL and his band of brothers good people. Only they are ones who would have banned most good TV programs and all cable access. Only they would have converted Pakistan into a type of Talibanic Afghanistan where Eid is celebrated on the same day as in Saudi Arabia. And only they could have ruined whatever image Pakistan has managed to save for itself in the world community... Only they... so I'm still glad :D

Just a side note... dose some one recall when Nawaz was elected PM for the first time there was earth quake in northern area, and yesterday when Mr. Jamali was elected, the same happened again.....

weird coincedence…

Well, as far as I know, this time Pakistan didn’t ask for any foreign help like Nawaz and Benazir used to do or Did Nawaz really cared about it when that happened?

Tremors Hamper Pakistan Rescue

PT if asking for foreign help is such a bad thing why is your favourite hero spreading his…hmm..hmm…chaadar every few months in front of Americans for crumbs?
Oh I see you consider it the blood money for co-operation against terrorism.

Nothing has changed since Nawaz was elected first time and Today. Jamali will laso get out of this koocha zaleel ho kar. bass intzaar karo mere bhai.

What the hell you are talkin' about? If Pakistan is able to recover by herself, wouldn't it be nice?

God Bless the mentality of our people, the way you mixed up Terrorism with Earthquake; and like I said many times on this board.

PAKISTANIS: Won't Do Anything. Won't Let Anyone Either

People here are such pesamists... Nothing makes me sicker then to see these idiotic politicians still argueing and bs'ing. Whatever happened to their commitment to the country? They should be getting to bussiness, not worrying about which oath they are taking etc etc. Their primary concern now should be trying to whatever they can to help the rescue effort, they already have this major problem to contend with. These SOB politicians better get their priorities straight. I would prefer Musharaf over any of those.

Well, your gonna have to get used to the way things are, the PM may not be who you want, but he is the PM. If all you can do is to critisize, then you have nothing else to say.
This is a time when Pakistanis should all band together, atleast for the sake of their country.

Jamali on Fire! :k:

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister-elect Mir Zafarullah Jamali Thursday vowed that he would consult all parliamentary groups in running the affairs of the government, and there would be no arms-twisting or victimization of any one, besides no traditional tactics will be used to coerce the opposition and its leaders.

“In most of the cases, there will be consultation as a must,” announced Leader of the House, Mir Zafarullah Jamali, in his maiden address to the National Assembly following his election as Prime Minister.

In an extempore speech he delivered immediately after securing confidence of the House, Jamali, first-ever Baloch leader who hails from a smaller province, said: “I would take opposition in confidence, as we have learnt lessons from history.” He added: “No fabricated cases and trumped up charges will be levelled against any body, and I assure justice and fair play to the MMA, PPP-P and other parties.” :k:

Our peace-loving overtures and decency should not be treated as weakness,” he maintained.

About termed the economic policies of the government as good. His government will work for the welfare of the people. He said: “We have not come here through any bargaining but with the strength of vote. Parliament is supreme and all members will work for promotion of democratic norms and values.”

Jamali said he feels honoured for being elected as Leader of the House, and termed it a great blessing that a man belonging to a small village, 1000 kilometers from here has been chosen to run the affairs of the country.
