We thank you for the overwhelming response for our appeal to Help Muskan. We have received response from all across India and World. In altogether we have received 300 plus e mails & 215 Telephone inquiries and the number is everyday increasing.The way people have come forward to help Muskan gives strength to our work and make us more determined to move ahead in the future.
When the case of Muskan came up on 03.05.2006 we were overwhelmed by the pain and suffering caused to this very young girl. Since then we have been helping fight the legal battle to get the perpetrator of the crime to be convicted. Also we have got her treated at the Safdurjung hospital where she was hospitalized for 20 days. She has undergone 2 operations and in the nearby future she needs more operations.
Her suffering was continuing as whatever help we could provide in terms of Medicines and Health Nutrition was inadequate and we wanted her situation to improve but due to abject poverty of her family her condition continued to remain at Gods will. It is then we decided why not reach out to people through the Media. Since the story went on Air, People have committed for her future life, education, health & operation.
We have decided to get all the contributions deposited in the Bank as a Corpus fund in the Name of the Child( to be administered by Shakti Vahini and The National Media Coalition) so that she could get some amount for her education and upkeep on a monthly basis. It is very important that she gets all the support as she has been mentally and psychologically traumatized and that stigma and trauma can be removed only when we can ensure that she gets the right education counseling and support in the future.
We have also spoken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for getting her surgery done and they have assured us for help.

had an important group discussion/personal interview (my first) today for a course I wish to take up, hence was not able to do so, but would have surely tried to put it up in about a day's time.
