There is difference between celebrating and remembering. There is nothing wrong with scholars deliver speeches and sermons on Prophet’s :saw: life in mosques. This should be done through out whole year. But blocking roads, causing traffic problems and disturbing others with high volume loud speakers and wasting money on food and decoration (tent, chairs, auditorium fees) is considered celebrating rather than remembering the birth of prophet :saw: which has no place in Islam. It’s an innovation and a bad one.

Using your reasoning then what do you say for all those Tablighis travelling to Raiwind every year on a selected date. Only this year the Govt of Pakistan is to issue 70,000 visas to foreign visitors arriving for the Tablighi Ijhtima. Seriously.=, does anyone believe that it is going to be free of cost? What do these guys do when they converge on Raiwind? Get together and talk about the good things of Islam and how to propagate the message. Nothing wrong. But, isnt it BIDAH cause the Prophet never did it, niether did his companions. Dont get me wrong, Iam not against Tablighis, its the double standards ppl use while judjing Prophet’s birthday celebrations and condoning and revelling Tablighis Ijhtima’s.
