Truth serums are so unreliable that they stopped being used in criminal cases in most western countries during the 1960s.
Hypnosis requires a cooperating subject, and even then is known to lead to cases where the subject says what they are coached to say rather than the truth. There were a number of controversial child abuse cases in the UK where appeals courts found that children suspected of having been abused were hypnotised for therapy and then coached to say abuse happened when it didn’t.

oh and by the way even though they have issues in courts with issues surrounding admissability and accuracy, are you suggesting that their use has been completely abanodoned, especially in intelligence agencies?
