Re: Mermaid for valima reception
I'm also getting a mermaid cut lehenga for the valima. The entire look of the outfit is very mod, so I'm not sure if wearing the dupatta over the head will go with the overall look.
I always had in my mind that I would wear dupatta over the head on mehendi and shaddi and then on valima wear something really mod and not wear the dupatta on the head. Everyone I talk to though thinks its so odd that I don't want to wear it on valima and the whole "you wont look like a bride" thing.
Another reason I'm considering wearing it on the head is that there are at least 300-400 people that will be at the valima that will NOT attend the shaddi, as for the shaddi we only allowed fiance's immediate family. If the only function they are invited to is the valima, and they see me not wearing on head, it could be that "bathay bunay gee" sigh
