This is true. And they can make decisions faster because they care less about the repercussions of making that decision i.e. jo hoga dekha jaai ga.
Another reason (some) major decisions are left on the guy is that in a desi family equation where FILS and MILS play active roles the DIL often gets burned for independent thinking so those decisions are then delegated to the guy.
