Are the sindhi memons (interior sindh) an off-shoot of the actual memons or are these 2 different races. Secondly, I always confuse memons with Khojas .. What are the main differences between these two.

infact memon community is one of the backbones of pakistani economy and they have sacrificed and contributed a lot too in Pakistan.

khojas and memons are traced back to the same ancestors. I think they broke off due to geographical or religious reasons.
I don't know about sindhi memons. Never heard of them.
We've got lots of fatties. You need to look at the uncles and aunties at a memon party. We all tend to have a pear-like figure when he grow older, because of our diabetes.

I think memons are mixed like any other Indo-Aryan group (mixed with Dravidians). Take my own case. My elder sister is very fair, I am fair brown, my younger sister is brown and my younger brother is dark brown. This is true in many memon families. I had once suggested at one of the forum for genetic research via mitochondria root (Mitochondrial DNA only passes from mother to the offspring and remains same for several generations) to find out the genetic distance between various memon groups and to know when that divergence occured before the current memon population gets mixed with others since it is now unstoppable. But unfortunately nobody responded to my call. In fact Basq people in Spain underwent such investigation to prove that they were ethnically different from rest of Europe. It is the same DNA technology which suggests that the current human specy emerged at around 1,60,000 years ago.
