My cousin's wife wore a gorgeous sari from Bangladesh on her mehndi (she is from there) -- it was beautiful red, gold, orange. Really lovely.

i knwo this is off topic..but hey…i think its crazy that these pple (designers, online, paki stores here) charge an arm and a leg for suits…my sister got this gorgeous sari for 1200rs (a little over 200 cdn dollars)…if she had purchased it from a designer, online or from a shop here in canada, she would have paid 2x or 3x the price!!!

(cant really see the kaam…but when she moved about, she sparkled!)

Afshi: looking at the chair set in the background. Was this photo taken at a wedding at Sagan Banquet Hall? Just wondering because I went to a wedding there and it was the same chairs on stage. I need a sofa/chair set for my stage setup too. Do you know where I can get something like whats in the photo? PM me if you want.

I like it but here is whats wrong with it and many desi outfits ive been currently seeing.

With such heavy work on the lengha the shirt should be kept plain and simple otherwise the outfit looks congested.

This one is looking so congested but has a very good color combination and style

this is the problem with indian designs.i also like lehnga with heavy work but i like shirt with very light work only on sleeves rest of the shirt shouldl be plain.

I agree sorta but the shirt should not be totally and completely plain.. a lil bit of kaam on the collar and border and sleeves looks nice. I remember lengha styles from around 95-97, I didnt like how the kameezes were bilkul plain, it just looked blah.
