Wow! Im so surprised to see the trend in is to wear quite heavy outfits on the Mendhi. I've lived abroad all my life - but after seeing some of the outfits here I think brides tend to go for the more heavier/formal look.
I'll be sticking to the traditional churidaar yellow and green and always wanted the dupatta to have chatapati style shading of yellow and green going diagonal and the shirt having no chalks and an A-Line one.. With Gota work.. I guess when I come to Pak for the shopping i'll get it made.
And phoolon ka sevarr (except I should keep dreaming to have those here in Australia) wish i was getting married in Pak hehe..

I am was thinking same...
My sister got married some years ago, and she had a very simple green and yellow suit with no kaam on it ( it was like the one u want for ur mehndi)
Now, my other sisters are getting married in the end of this year , and as we can see the trend have changed ... The joda has to be quite heavy .....

my sis wore rust chattapati gharara with ferozi, red a little , cream and purple in it

personally I think that on her mehndi the bride should look pretty yet simple..if the jora is too heavy, the entire charm of the beautiful barat look would be lost !
and somehow the girls simply dressed with natural makeup on the mehndi look very pretty IMO :)
