Mehndi outfit??

Re: Mehndi outfit??

I'm not a big fan of gota work in general, but he's pulled the whole outfit off really well! :)

Re: Mehndi outfit??

Yeah...and the pink is beautiful! I believe the dupatta is pale yellow.

okay this dress is really pretty, that’s y i ordered this one for my jahez almost a year ago, and i got it made for just Rs. 3500 from Purana Qila, and NO! it wasn’t bad at all, in fact it was soo close to the orignal, u just cudnt tell the difference, everybody used to compliment me on how pretty this dress is, but whoever wants to have this dress made, keep in mind that this dress is pretty common in boutiques in pakistan these days, Khan Variety in Rawalpindi is charging only Rs.10,000 for this dress.

i personally think that designers charge way too much high prices, and these dresses are worn only 2 or 3 times beacuse we girls dont want to repeat wearing the same dress everytime, so an effort should definitely be made to look for alternatives so as to get the best quality at reduced prices. we shouldnt let our parents hard earned money get wasted so easily u know.

Re: Mehndi outfit??

Fragrant Leaf...I'm surprised that your jora was for Rs 3500 AND close to the original...close in terms of design and quality or just design?
For example, I would assume that Ahsan Nazir used pure fabrics in this design. The farbric itself would be around 3500 since good quality jamavaars go for 450-1500 per yard.
When people buy designer outfits, they don't just pay for the design but the quality as well...work, fabric, how well the garment fits...
I'm not saying RS 25,000 for this jora is reasonable if you were to do it on your own. But anything DRASTICALLY less would get me thinking!

Re: Mehndi outfit??

i would do an orange shalwar with that pink outfit to make it a bit more lively. its a really pretty outfit otherwise!

sgc hasa good point! my shalwar was hot pink and my kameez orange.

also therer was another thread with this karma like mehndi gharara which has this fabulous purple in it. you couldlook at that too.

wow thats a grrrreeeaaat deal for the outfit! and i completely agree with you, whats the point of spending so much money on an outfit that will be worn a couple times. u can get more for ur money by getting suits made elsewhere and hopefully if all turns out well with that, u can get a couple suits made for the price of one!

wow this is gorgeous.

I'm just getting ideas yet, i don't think im going to have time to get anything made, as the only relatives i haev in pakistan are either old or male, there is no one young/female.

So i will have to buy everything ready made, maybe from here even.

Ayesha I blv ALL brides look great in yellow's/saffron's and oranges.. even if they're really fair or sanwali! So i'm pretty sure all colors wud work for u as well..

Re: Mehndi outfit??

^ its true... you just need to find your shade of yellow. i can do gold, and i can do canary yellow... put me in lemon yellow and i look like i'm so sick, i'm going to pass out.
just go to a fabric store and hold up different color swatches to your face... you'll figure out your shade of yellow quick fast!

i got this made in blue and green colors looks beautiful .. not for wedding

Re: Mehndi outfit??

wow sounds beautiful too. Is it quite simple then?

Yh i was going to post i had a baby yellowy hijab on today and everyone said it looked really good, so maybe theres some yellows i can pull off.

When is everyone or did everyone start shopping for their weddings?

Ayesha why dont u get u're "colors" done.. where specialists help u and show u what colors work for u and which ones to stay away from!

ooh Thats a good idea, oh well ive got ages yet, so il wait till the new year.

This year is going to be hectic anyway, my parents are going to do hajj inshallah so going to be really busy.

How to Wear Yellow

Whether its subtle lemon, daffodil, gold or honey, there is enough variation in color tones to match all skin types. Yellow radiates the light and really gets you noticed. The color of hot summer days, wear yellow and you can’t help but be cheerful.

  • Warm, dark golden yellows like honey or caramel best suit those women with blonde hair, dark eyes, and tawny skin tones. These warm undertones lift the complexion, whilst pale pastels can make skin look sallow.
  • Blonde and light brown-haired women with a lighter skin tone can carry off more lemony, golden tones. Warm yellows, but not too dark, will bring out the flecks of gold in hair, and make blue or green eyes sparkle.
  • Sunny shades of daffodil or lemon need either a very dark or light skin tone. Many pale skins have a cool blue undertone and therefore the warmth of this shade boosts the complexion. Women with dark features generally look dramatic in yellow, as against their skin, it appears elegant rather than gaw"
