Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
You can tuck in individual flowers and as buy flower chotis (braids) as well. I now for sure that they are made of fresh flowers atleast in Karachi and that many small shop florists make them.

Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
heyy any ideas about the metallooking pranda i posted with the girl??
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
I don't think metal parandas are widely available in Pakistan. Atleast, I haven't seen one in Karachi. They are mostly common in India. However, you can achieve a similar look by tucking in similar earrings in your braid.
Will you go to a parlor for the mehndi hairstyle? If yes, then your hair stylist must have some idea about this.
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
on my mehndi, i put my hair back and had it braided into a plain black paranda (my nani's paranda). Then i brought the braid to the side and put in artificial flowers all the way down the length of the braid.
after the mehndi, i kept some of the flowers which are now in my scrap book.
sorry, i cant show pics since i'm hijabi and this was a ladies only event.
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
yea im planning to that to my hair also but i have a pranda that has mirrors going down in it its really pretty just that i really wanted that type of pranda :(
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
How can I wear flowers in my hair if it will be down for the mehndi? Can anyone post some pics or suggest some styles???
Would this work if I wore it with my hair down, coming out of one side of my hair?? Does anyone know what this style of gajra is called?
Love it Rabia!
This a typical Indian ‘mogra’ gajra. You’ll find a similar ‘motia’ strands if you are looking in Pakistan. I have mostly seen brides wearing the motia gajras on their main events. You can wear it for mehndi if you like but I think the gajra should be on the opposite shoulder if you want open hair coming out front.
A better look at the gajra:
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
Are parandhas just for the bride? Or do the guests of the mehndi tend to wear them aswell?
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
Anyone can wear them^^
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
I agree, anyone can wear them, they are very feminine and pretty.
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
I think a mehndi bride also looks beautiful with a flower paranda
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
if i do a sidebraid over my left shoulder, do i tuck the flower between my braid and my neck, or on the other side? and what are the best flowers to use?
^ Individual flowers or a small cluster would go on the oppostie side, if it's a gajra.. the same side.
Mahi, do you have a picture of any flower braids or 'choti'?
Re: Mehndi Hairdo's!
^ other side meaning other side of neck, or other side of braid?
If you're going place the paranda.braid over your left shoulder and you're using individual or a bunch of flowers pin it/them at the nape of the neck right where the braid begins. If it's a 'gajra' then it goes on the other side of the neck.
