Yes, that’s correct its a bod pod. For those who don’t know bod pod is used to determine a person’s fat and fat free mass using wt and volume of a person.

There are a few different methods of determining that. One is water displacement which also uses volume and wt but it is the most difficult and most accurate method. Second is bod pod, third is using electrodes (placed on feet and hand) to measure water content if I remember correctly. Most accessible but least accurate is the machines that look like wt machines or hand held devices.

Those still exist, calipers require a trained person because getting the same consistent result every time is hard. I suppose they are not used as much anymore. Bod pod is not something available widely yet, only research labs have them.
