But the issue is that the oldies who recently started using internet have no idea how easy it is to sit behind a computer screen and throw filth at each other. They get super excited at stuff like that!
Same goes for the so called leftie liberalists. They had complete control over Pakistani blog and social media scene until only a couple of years ago. They could say pretty much anything and no one noticed except for the fellow keyboard warriors while their daddies provided all comforts of life for them. They didn't write about how hard it is to live without electricity for most of the day or how difficult it is to get decent service from a hospital if you don't have much to spend.
Now that internet is much more accessible to public which does not go for elaborate formal writing styles. They take their frustrations out on blogs, twitter, facebook and such without resorting to superficial layers of buttered language. The funny part is that these so called 'intellectuals' are now resorting to the same street language that they face ;-)

پاکستان میں ویسے تو آج کل کپڑے پہنانے کا کاروبار بہترین کاروباروں میں سے ایک ہے۔ کہیں ’لان‘ سونے کے بھاؤ فروخت کی جا رہی ہے تو کہیں ’دولہا ہم سجائیں گے‘ کا نعرہ لگا کر دولہا اور اس کے بہن بھائیوں کو کئی پریشانیوں سے ’بچایا‘ جا رہا ہے۔
لیکن میں بات تفصیل سے ایسے کاروبار کے بارے میں کرنا چاہتا ہوں جس میں آج کل بڑے زور و شور سے کپڑے اتارے جا رہے ہیں۔ سیاستدانوں کے کپڑے روزانہ کی بنیاد پر ہر چینل پر رات گئے ٹاک شوز (رات کی عدالتوں) میں کئی برسوں سے تواتر کے ساتھ اتارے جا رہے ہیں۔
مسئلہ سیاسی ہو، انتظامی ہو یا سماجی چاقو، چھریاں ہاتھ میں لیے ہر چینل پر دسیوں ’اینکر‘ سیاستدانوں کو آمنے سامنے بٹھا کر مرغوں کی طرح لڑا رہے تھے اور تماشہ سارا زمانہ دیکھ رہا ہے۔
ان روزانہ کے درجنوں بحث مباحثوں کا حاصل وصول چند پگڑیاں اچھالنے کے سوا کچھ نہیں رہا۔ بات اتنی بگڑی کہ سٹیج پر جگتیں مارنے کے ماہر بھی ایسی ہی دکانیں سجانے آ بیٹھے۔ سیاستدان کی رہی سہی عزت بھی نیلام ہوگئی۔ ان کی غیرموجودگی میں بھی ان کا ایسا غیراخلاقی مذاق اڑایا جانے لگا کہ توبہ امان ہی بہتر۔
اگر کچھ فائدہ تھا تو ان پچیس تیس نیوز چینل کے مالکان کو تھا۔ کچھ لے دے کر ایک آدھ اینکر ماہانہ تنخواہ پر رکھ لیا اور بس۔ سیاستدان جو جلسے جلوسوں پر لاکھوں خرچ کرتے تھے مفت کے ائر ٹائم کے چکر میں آج تک ان شوز کی رونق بڑھا رہے ہیں۔
سیاسی جماعتوں نے اس مقصد کے لیے باضابطہ اپنے رہنماؤں کو ڈیوٹیاں تفویض کر رکھی تھی۔ بعض بےچارے تو ڈبل ڈیوٹیاں بھی کرتے رہے ہیں یعنی ایک دو یا پھر تین شوز میں شرکت۔ کبھی ایک تو کبھی دوسرا سیاستدان شو کے اختتام تک اپنی لنگوٹ بچا لیتا لیکن کئی سیاستدانوں یا وزراء کو تو شو کے دوران اندازہ ہوتا کہ وہ ان کی عزت بڑھانے کا نہیں بلکہ رہا سہا لباس بھی اتارنے کا سبب ہیں تو وہ لائیو پروگرام سے اٹھ کر روانہ بھی ہوگئے لیکن یہ ناراضگی عارضی ثابت ہوتی۔
اینکرز کی باہمی مخاصمت
سب سے اہم پیشرفت معروف اینکرز کی ایک دوسرے سے مخاصمت کا کھل کر سامنے آنا ثابت ہوا۔ پہلی مرتبہ وہ سیاستدانوں کی بجائے ایک دوسرے کو نشانہ بنانے لگے ہیں۔ چینلوں کی درمیان بھی دبی دبی جنگ اب باقاعدہ قومی جنگ کا احساس دینے لگی ہے۔ ٹی وی چینل کے لیے متفقہ ضابطۂ اخلاق کی کمی ہر کسی کو چبھنے لگی ہے۔
دوسرے روز وہ پھر کسی دوسرے چینل پر دکھائی دے رہے ہوتے۔ ان کی مجبوری مالکان کی چاندی ثابت ہوئی۔یہی گرما گرم پروگرام چینل کے دو چار گھنٹے نکال دیتے ہیں۔ لیکن ان کے لیے اصل فائدہ اقتدار اور سیاست کے ایوانوں میں ان کی قد کاٹھ میں اضافہ ثابت ہوا۔
لیکن جو گڑھا دوسروں کے لیے کھودتا ہے وہ خود بھی اس میں گرتا ہے۔ اب تک جو ’اینکر‘ سیاستدانوں کا یہ حشر مزے لے لے کر کر رہے تھے آج قسمت نے ان میں سے دو کا ساتھ نہیں دیا۔ ان کی ’آف ائر گفتگو‘ کیا سامنے آئی ہر کسی نے پرانے حساب کتاب برابر کرنے کی ٹھان لی۔
حقیقت سے زیادہ خواہش کی بنیاد پر تیار کی گئی مراعات کی جعلی فہرستیں بھی گردش کرنے لگیں۔

یہ کام تو نجی میڈیا کا ہے کہ وہ کریں لیکن اس میں پمرا جو کردار ادا کرسکتی تھی وہ بھی اس نے نہیں ادا کیا۔ اب جب عدالت عظمی نے اس کے کان پکڑے تو اسے بھی نوٹس جاری کرنے کا خیال آیا ہے۔
اس تمام تر صورتحال میں تاہم مجھ جیسے صحافیوں کو ایک مرتبہ پھر اپنے محض صحافی ہونے پر اطمینان محسوس ہوا۔ شکر کیا کہ صدر یا وزیر اعظم کے ساتھ سرکاری دورے پر جانے کے مزے سے آج تک شناسائی نہیں، کبھی کسی کا بیان شائع یا نشر کرنے پر لفافہ نہیں ملا جس پر عیاشی کر سکتے، ابھی کسی کے مکان یا فلیٹ پر قبضہ نہیں کیا، کبھی سرکاری خرچے پر حج کی نوبت نہیں آئی، کسی وزیراعظم کے بیٹے کا بےتکلف فون نہیں آتا، کسی افسر سے پیشہ ورانہ حد سے زیادہ سلام دعا نہیں ہے تو اچھا ہے اور ملک ریاض کی فہرست میں نام نہیں تو بہت بہتر ہے۔
کسی شخص سے کوئی لالچ نہیں تو وہ بھی بدلے میں کسی فائدے کا تقاضہ نہیں کرتا۔ سکون ہے تسلی ہے۔
ملک ریاض کی فہرست تو دور کی بات اپنی اوقات تو گزشتہ دنوں بحریہ ٹاؤن میں آوارہ گردی کے دوران سمجھ آئی۔ ملک ریاض کے قریب بتائے جانے والے ایک پراپرٹی ڈیلر کے دفتر کے سامنے دو تین بڑی لینڈکروزرز اور پجیرو جیپوں کے درمیان اپنی چھ سو سی سی کی گاڑی کھڑی کر کے اندر داخل ہوئے۔ بڑی سی کرسی پر براجمان یا تقریباً لیٹے ہوئے ایک سابق کرنل صاحب نے اپنے ملازم سے اپنے لیے چائے اور ہمارے لیے پانی لانے کو کہا۔ ہم اپنا سا منہ لے کر نکل آئے۔
یہ سلوک برداشت کوئی کوئی کرسکتا ہے ورنہ سو ضابطۂ اخلاق بنا لیں۔۔۔

یار لعنت ہے ایسے صحافی اور اس کی صحافت پر، میں تو شرم کے مارے کسی سے آنکھ ملانے کے قابل بھی نہیں رہا !

نہیں آیا نا ! یہی تو دکھ ہے ۔۔۔ہر کوئی طنز کررہا ہے کہ ابے تم کیسے صحافی ہو کہ بتیس سال سے جھک مار رہے ہو۔ تمہارے بعد اس پیشے میں پیدا ہونے والے موٹر سائکل سے اتر کر لیکسس پر چڑھ گئے، تین مرلے کے مکان سے فارم ہاؤس میں شفٹ ہوگئے ، غوثیہ ہوٹل کے بنچ پر چائے سڑکتے سڑکتے نادیہ کافی شاپ میں دربار لگانے لگے ، صدر کو آصف اور وزیرِ اعظم کوگیلو کہہ کر پکارنے لگے اور تم آج بھی عبید اللہ علیم کے اس شعر کو جھنڈا بنائے گھوم رہے ہو کہ ،
ابھی خرید لوں دنیا کہاں کی مہنگی ہے
مگر ضمیر کا سودا برا سا لگتا ہے
سالے یہ بھی کہتے ہیں کہ ہماری مانو تو صحافت کو مقدس مقدس کہہ کر بدنام کرنے سے بہتر ہے کہ پریس کلب کے سامنے بریانی کا ٹھیلہ لگا لو۔اتنا منافع ہوگا کہ ویج بورڈ بھول جاؤ گے۔
اچھا تو تم پھر ایسے گھٹیا طعنہ زنوں کو کیا جواب دیتے ہو؟
جواب کیا دینا ہے۔بس شرمندگی سے گڑ جاتا ہوں۔ اس سے پہلے وزارتِ اطلاعات سے سیکرٹ فنڈ حاصل کرنے والوں کی کئی لسٹیں آئیں ان میں بھی میرا نام نہیں تھا۔لوگ پوچھتے تھے کہ یار تم واقعی صحافی ہو یا ہمیں کارڈ دکھا کر چ بنا رہے ہو۔میں یہ کہہ کر ٹال جاتا تھا کہ بھائیو میں بڑا صحافی ہوں لیکن اتنا بڑا بھی نہیں کہ کوئی مجھے سیکرٹ فنڈ کی لسٹ میں ڈال دے۔اس لسٹ میں آنے سے پہلے اور بعد میں بڑے پاپڑ بیلنے پڑتے ہیں۔لیکن اب میں لوگوں کو کیا جواب دوں ؟ تم ہی انصاف کرو کہ کیا میں اس قابل بھی نہیں کہ بحریہ ٹاؤن کی اصلی یا جعلی لسٹ میں ہی میرا نام آجاتا ؟؟
میرا خیال ہے تم نے سنجیدگی سے کوشش نہیں کی ہوگی !
اڑا لے اڑا لے تو بھی میرا مذاق اڑالے۔۔۔۔۔۔ظاہر ہے مجھے اپنے بچوں کے مستقبل کی کیا پرواہ۔ جیسی معیاری تعلیم پیلے سکول کی لنگڑی بنچ پر ٹوٹی ہوئی کھڑکی کے ذریعے آتی ہے وہ پبلک سکول کے بند ائرکنڈیشنڈ کلاس روم میں کہاں سے گھسے گی۔ ظاہر ہے جو سکون دو کمروں کے فلیٹ میں ہے وہ دو کنال کی کوٹھی میں کہاں اور جیسی عمدہ ہوا ہنڈا موٹر سائکل پر لگتی ہے وہ ہنڈا اکارڈ والوں کو کہاں نصیب۔۔۔۔
ابے کوشش۔۔۔۔۔مجھ سے زیادہ کوشش کس نے کی ہوگی۔ایک دفعہ ایک انٹیلی جینس ایجنسی کا سادہ میجر ملا ۔کہنے لگا سر میں آپ کی تحریروں کا مداح ہوں۔ میں نے کہا اگر میں اتنا ہی باصلاحیت ہوں تو پھر آپ بھی مجھے ملک و قوم کی خدمت کا خصوصی موقع دیں اور ساتھ رکھ لیں۔ میرا خیال تھا کہ میجر اشارہ سمجھ کے میری پیش کش پر خوشی سے اچھل پڑے گا۔لیکن پتا ہے اس نے کیا کہا ؟
خان صاحب ہا ہا ہا ہا۔۔۔۔جتنی آپ کی تحریریں شگفتہ ہیں اس سے کہیں زیادہ آپ کی باتیں دلچسپ ہیں۔یہ کہہ کر وہ مصافحہ کر کے نکل لیا۔
پتا ہے مجھے سب سے زیادہ غصہ کب آتا ہے؟
جب لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ خان جی آپ نے اپنے قلم سے ماشااللہ بہت عزت کمائی ہے۔آپ کے تو ہزاروں مداح ہیں۔۔۔
میاں بھاڑ میں جائے ایسی عزت اور ایسے غریب مداح۔۔۔یار اگر میں اتنا ہی بڑا قلمی سرجن ہوں تو پھر کوئی دو نمبر طاقتور اور پیسے والا آدمی مجھے کیوں نہیں بلاتا ۔میرا قلمی مجرہ کیوں نہیں کرواتا۔میرے فقرے کی کاٹ پر نولکھا ہار اتار کر قدموں میں کیوں نہیں پھینکتا۔ میری دلیل کے ٹھمکے پر پراڈو کی چابی مخملی ڈبے میں رکھ کے پیش کیوں نہیں کرتا۔ میرے اندازِ بیاں سے رقت آمیز ہو کر عمرے پر کیوں نہیں بھیجتا۔میری بیوی کے سامنے مجھ سے آخر کیوں نہیں کہتا کہ بس خانصاحب آپ چپ رہیں یہ چار کنال میں نے اپنی بہن کو دیے ہیں ۔آپ بہن بھائی کے معاملے میں اپنے اصولوں کی ٹانگ نا اڑائیں۔

**ISLAMABAD, June 16: The leaked video footage of two TV anchors featuring their controversial conversation with property tycoon Malik Riaz has not only put credibility of journalists under a cloud, but also raised a question why cameras and recording devices remain operational during commercial breaks and informal discussions in TV programmes.
**Renowned TV anchor Syed Talat Hussain told Dawn that he had made it a practice in very early days of his career to mute audio and block visuals to the main control room from the studio during commercial breaks and informal sittings.
“I have been doing this since long. I became more careful after Dr Amir Liaquat’s episode,” he said, referring to the leaked footage of the host of a popular religious programme showing him using slang and objectionable language while talking to his guests and other staff in the studio during unguarded moments.
Mr Hussain was of the opinion that such embarrassing pilferages could be checked by adopting the SOP for media organisations all over the world.
Sabir Shakir, the bureau chief of ARY News in Islamabad, endorsed Mr Hussain’s viewpoint, but said it would be impossible to stop video theft if someone from within the organisation decided to violate the procedure.
Moreover, Mr Shakir claimed, it was very easy to grab the transmission of a TV channel by an individual or any other organisation if they had specified equipment.
He explained that most of the talk shows and other programmes involving politicians, lawyers, news analysts and other experts on current affairs were conducted in Islamabad, being the capital seat, but shows were telecast and recorded at the main control room in Karachi or Lahore, where head offices of most of the channels were situated.
The audio-video beam from the studios, he said, was sent directly to the central control room via satellite through an allocated frequency which was known to even a junior technician working in a channel.
Giving an example, he said it was a routine practice that the state-run Pakistan Television informed other private channels about their frequency address so that they could get the “clean feed” of any function for onward live telecast with their own logos.
He was of the opinion that the leaked video of the exclusive interview of the property tycoon on Dunya TV showing the two anchorpersons – Mubashar Lucman and Mehr Bokhari – exchanging highly incriminating remarks with Malik Riaz had been the work of an outsider.
Nadeem Ihsan, a senior manager technical (operations) in a news channel, said according to the SOP for live shows, the audio should be muted and the source should be changed from cameras during commercial breaks. He said his organisation had strictly been observing the SOP, but regretted that generally people working for TV channels did not care about it.
Editor (North) DawnNews Mubashar Zaidi said everyone was now talking about the need for observing the code of conduct without knowing that no such code was available.
The director news of a private TV channel said that after the release of the footage his management had directed studio crew to adopt certain special measures to avoid such incidents as it could cause embarrassment not only for the channel but also for the guests. Despite repeated attempts, no-one from the Dunya TV management agreed to speak on the issue on record.
However, the channel issued an official handout saying: **“The management of Dunya TV regrets to admit a serious breach of its security protocols which resulted in theft of its ‘off-air’ footage by elements who wanted to scandalise both the judiciary and the media.
**
“Dunya TV has lodged an FIR against the theft of its ‘off-air’ footage. Dunya TV will be extending full cooperation to the two-member inquiry committee formed by the Supreme Court to unearth the facts of a well-planned conspiracy against the judiciary and the media.
“It must be noted that Dunya TV did not air any ‘off-air’ footage of its recording which was stolen by unknown conspirators and leaked on the internet the same way social media has been used to malign the honourable Supreme Court.
“**The management of Dunya TV did not prompt any of the two anchors to ask any particular question at any stage during the transmission in question. It must be noted that the management of Dunya TV facilitates its editorial staff to the maximum, even at the expense of commercials, in special transmissions as has been happening in the past.
“We have also launched an internal investigation into the unfortunate incident and action will be taken against anyone found involved in facilitating the conspirators from within the organisation.”

Who even watches Dunya TV? I'd never heard of it before Hasb-e-Haal and even that I watch on youtube every now and then. Baat tau aise kar rahe hain jaise they really posed a huge threat to the big names in Pakistani TV channels.

Mubashir Luqman is back; hosts show on Dunya TV today. Islamabad: Mubashir Luqman will host show on Dunya TV today and “answer to all accusations” levelled against him after a video leak, showing off-the-air remarks of a Malik Riaz interview with him and Mehar Bukhari.
Luqman tweeted on Monday that “I am sure a lot people will be shocked who had spread rumors that I had run away to UK to avoid an inquiry. Well I am here.”
He cursed all those people who kept on using abusive language against him on social media and told them to “please go off my time line or I will block you”.
He advised all gossipmongers to “read Quran and see what it says about those who spread rumors”.
When one of his fans told him that he was shocked to see the leaked video and asked Luqman if he was guilty over the episode, the anchor replied: “If I was guilty why would I be back? Why would I not run away? And guilty of what man? Have a heart and wait for the show.”
He said that a lot of people abused him and his family over the past three days and said he felt sorry about that.
He claimed that the video leak was a conspiracy against Dunya TV, as the channel is now dominating its competitors.

^ this was alleged, he shared the list on 14th where as the list was already there by 6th. Some journalists believe there is some journalist behind it.
