parks mein dates marna sahi hai....

Geo kai aik program FIR mein clifton kai park ki pics show kee gayein jis mein gals aur boys ki flimming ki gayi chup kar door sai,n ppl said on that prog that we can't send our kids to this park...is this ok...aaj kal jo sahi kaam karta hai ussai moderate log aisai hi issue bana daitai hai...

I hardly watched Maya ... but I know one thing for sure ... she has been victimized in the worst possible manner ... specially by the pakistani people ... so much gali galoch I saw on facebook and channels ... against one person ... who was only the face of the show , not the producer ..
Having working in TV myself, I know these anchors dont have the freedom to do any shows just off their own minds, everything is scripted and planned , it gets signed off by the producers before it even goes on air ...
The tv channel never came forward to accept their responsibility ... they found it easy to dismiss her , it was unfair dismissal , had she been in the UK and this had happened to her , the channel would have been paying through their noses in hefty fines ... when they used the paid actors they should have shown that this is reconstructed video ...
And mind you , all those people gali galoching Maya are those who themselves do not believe in ethics ... her topic was by no means wrong .. it had nothing to do with privacy or moral policing ... going on dates , lying to the family and targetting young girls in the name of love ... this is not something to be happy about .. most muslim cultures have boundaries .. even in countries like the UAE , saudi , a girl and a boy can be asked to present their marriage certificates if the police suspects them of dating ... Pakistan is no different ...
Many people ( those who had chor in their own dil ) shouted that Maya's show put doubt in parents minds , how many thought that many of the girls become easy targets of gangs who lure them into drugs and prostitution ... Maya's show just showed us the reality ...
and this presenter , he needs to be fired ... how dare he speak to a woman like the way he did ... but ofcourse no one will stand up and speak against him ...

I guess she got inspired by Veena Malik after getting dissed by everyone from everywhere she went to this same guy Kamran (i guess) and cleared her position by showing crocodile tears this moto woman did the same lol.

Victimized? Ok, understood on the fact that producers really hold the strings to the show...but it's up to the host on how it's presented no? I mean, that's the point of having different hosts. =/ She could have made it a classy show, rather than shouting and running at random people with a horde of weirdo aunties.
If I walked up to you and your husband in a park and demanded your marriage certificate...how would you feel? If a police officer, someone of real authority demands proof of marriage...they have a right to do it, the law supports them. She had NO RIGHT to interfere in someone's meeting, to demand they show proof of a legitimate relationship. Who is she? She has no authority for that. Muslim countries do have limits...and those people meeting up weren't making out in public. Honestly, all she did was freak girls out and give guys more of an upper-hand to invite girls to their homes or motels in order to do something even more sinister. And calling Pakistan a Muslim country is pathetic, no offense...you don't pick and choose which laws will be enforced and which one's won't be. The UAE/Saudi don't compare to Pakistan cos they don't pick and choose laws. It's sad to say bribery, illegal alcohol, and the thriving red light district are ok - but God forbid two people meeting in public.
She's a woman and if she was doing a show on illegal trafficking of women cos of the deception of guys...there were MANY other approaches to it. There was no need to chase couples around in a park.
As for Kamran Shahid's attitude towards her...I say good on him. Just cos she's a woman doesn't mean everything needs to be said to her in a soft and lovely manner. What he did was classic - he gave her a taste of her own medicine and she couldn't handle it.

Pakistani media is such a joke. No ethics, no professionalism and no accountability.
I agree Maya Khan was made a scape goat because she was the face of that show. All involving persons and the channel itself should be blamed for that circus of a show. But if Amir Liaqat is allowed back on TV after many scandals then Maya khan’s stunt was nothing in comparision.

I agree with you that it is a problem in the society where a majority of people would not approve their daughters going out on dates with guys..
The reason why she was ‘victimized’ was not that she tried to highlight the issue.
- It is the ‘way’ she did it.
- They highlighted her hypocrisy when she promotes such behavior in other shows.
- She or the channel has not ‘authority’ unlike police in Saudi to do what they did. Is this the woman who should be deciding the boundaries:
Am I right to assume that once you are rich or become a famous politician, respecting ‘cultural boundaries’ is no more an issue?
In the program, there was nothing about girls being trapped into drugs or prostitution. It was just targeting those couples who do not have the money or resources to ‘date’, for example, in an upscale restaurant.
Replace her with a ‘maulvi’ and show him doing what she did, I wonder how much ‘victimization’ would he go through.
P.S. Those who talking about Kamran’s attitude have never listened to Jasmeen Manzoor I guess

I am amazed at how gullible some of you are. Im specifically talking about those who are lashing out at Kamran Shahid. This program in itself was a setup. The questions and answers were mutually decided, and it was made to show as if the anchor was coming down real hard on Maya, and then in the end, she not only 'vindicates' herself by showing proof that the couples were in fact actors, but she becomes the 'victim' by apologizing 'unconditionally'.
There is news that Maya is signing on to Express News, and this so called interview was a precursor to that. Media today is full of rubbish, and most of what happens in morning shows is performed by actors (whether its couples coming in for shaadis, kala jadoo victims, this, that and the other). The morning shows are run by incompetent, untrained girls and guys from the showbiz, who have no work ethics when it comes to talk shows. Mustansir Hussain Tarar said it best in one of his interviews, when he said that the basic requirement to become a morning show host is to be a young and pretty actress. Thats it.

^ totally agree! the only one who has been 'victimized' here has been the gullible, unsuspecting public who are being deliberately dumbed down by these topi dramas enacted by unprofessional dimwits like her (and kamran!) so obvious this was a staged performance by both of them. she was defending a topi drama by enacting another drama, some ppl just never learn from their mistakes!

They are advertising her as 'Dabang Khan' with her repeating the famous dialogue -
'Mujh Per Aik Ehsaan Karna, Keh Mujh Per Koi Ehsaan Mat Karna'.
I was thinking that she was going to be on Express News after the FL episode.

Well that this talk show with kamran shahid was a setup no doubt about that. I would say it was planned on maya's own request to defend herself on a public medium. Maybe thats why to many of the viewers the host sounded like shouting and being unreasonable because he was fake and maybe he isnt just as good an actor.
That being said, i don think maya should be bad mouthed and she deserved really all that mud slinging given that her issue was actually genuine. The pretext that she gives now behind using the paid actors makes even more sense as this way** she actually saved the lives of the actual couple that do go and date (with all inappropriate gestures and actions and all that). **That she could have made it clear that it was a prepaid program i guess had she done that, the show had lost its worth and it would have looked more like a drama on a social issue which are played on tv everynow and then but from which people do not really learn. Well people are too clever to be baited by anything they know is prepared to teach them morals but the same people will swallow the bait if it is dished out as a reality. So if anyone thinks the issue is fake and there is no such thing as dating in the parks and that too quite dubious kind needs another thought coming. those who are living in a typical pakistani society they know what purpose these parks fulfill for those who cannot afford to get a room even.
Its all one's perpective of taking things and reaction about them which varies. The people, who complained to her against this dating issue and asked her to do something about it, Im sure exsist. I could be one of them. Who would want their daughters and sister cheating on their families and dating in the parks with their boy friends when they aught to be at the colleges or anywhere they told their families they would be. Again, when such couples date in public places they do become center of attention because people do not really find it decent to be around.
That she highlighted the issue for the public awareness, and that even if a single girl learnt the lesson seeing the program and corrected herself, I guess I would salute Maya khan for that, regardless pf what she is in person or how she did that whatever. Knowing how easily our teens fall a prey to the attractive and fanciful datings with boys that charms them, and what becomes of them once they start to cheat on their parents and families, in this innocent but dangerous pursuit of theirs, I for myself would say there should be more such awareness programs as discourage such activities by our girls which take them to hideous doom. More than anything else, we do live in an Islamic state, and as much as we can try, we should have this clear cut stance on dos and donts on our religion, where meeting a na mehram one on one is actually very much discouraged.

don’t you know that is what an anchor is? Someone who calls 3 people who not only have differing opinions but who want to tear their opponent LIMB FROM LIMB and they yell above each other and the anchor incites, instigates and yells even louder . Conclusion , anchor in Pk = healthy set of Lungs.
