I agree with you, these tasks may seem overwhelming amount to do for those who a struggling to keep up with their daily 5 prayers. It is difficult to be convinced to change the way we are , or to implement something as hard to reach as this. The 10 deeds were addressed to people who perhaps want to further build there connection with Allah, and already have something established. But perhaps it is not appropriate for this type of forum, or the audience he is addressing - even though, the brothers intention was to spread good. This does not mean we as lay Muslims take it at face value, and ignore it because it doesn't fit into our busy lifestyles. Rather, we must make the most of it and try to do it in accordance to the best of our ability. To reach a stage where we can do these deeds requires time and patience. Otherwise, these actions would seem like a burden and we'll not earn the true benefits of it. That's why we should, for instance, take one deed at a time, and slowly build on it. If our daily 5 times prayers are lacking, then we should maybe decide that the nafl prayer is the least of our current priorities and just focus on our fard prayers, and once we are able to get a routine for our fard prayers, we then start thinking about the sunnah's and then the nafl. Once we feel we can add a little more in our lives, we can start reading the Quran etc. etc. ...
Asalaamu Alaikum wr wb, brother we are all fighting a daily battle with ourselves in everyday life but these 10 points are very achievable and we will only achieve them if we really want it. Sameway we achieved accredition and certificates because we really wanted it.
We can't achieve anything in life unless we really want to achieve it, so should not one of our main aims in life be to please and get as close as we can to our creator?
We have to set ourselves targets and achieve what we can according to our own abilities and no one will ever gain everything but we can try our best at least for Allah looks at what is in our hearts and if we tried our best to achieve what we could then Allah will reward us accordingly and help us in eevry aspect of our lives.
Of course we should start with the fundamentals and build on them just like we started with high school and built on it with college and university education. Anyone can achieve great things if they really want it and work towards it.
If we put the same effort as we put in to this life wthen surely we would get so much more further in our deen than we are right now.
